RIP Science Fiction Author Brian Aldiss

RIP. A leading figure of science fiction’s “new wave” of the 60s. One of his short stories was the basis for the Kubrick/Spielberg movie AI (but better, being short and to the point.)

I’ve been a long-time SF reader, and the Helliconia books vaguely ring a bell, but I can’t remember anything I’ve read by him. I suspect at most I’ve read a short story or two, but I can’t name them. The name is one which rings out however.

All of this

I’ve been meaning to read the Helliconia series for, like, decades. I bet I could get it on Kindle pretty easily, maybe now is the time?

He was mostly known as a short story author, and better known in Britain than here.
