RNC gets black, too (no going back)

The yard sign is pretty egregious, though. It’s a blue sign that says “STEELE” in big letters, and then “Democrat” in smaller letters beneath. This follows the pretty much ubiquitous formula for political signs in which the sign displays the name of the candidate and their party affiliation. It’s pretty clear that the goal there was confusion. It’s like if I published a book and the cover had two things on it–the title, and the name “Stephen King.” And then we could argue all day about plausible explanations for why I put Stephen King’s name on the cover of my book, but the simple fact that it is universally acknowledged that in the absence of any other explanatory text, name on cover of book = author.

Fox News’ Glenn Beck laid into RNC Chairman Michael Steele during an interview Friday following the House’s passing of the stimulus bill, telling him that the party had “betrayed” conservatives. “My radio audience is more pissed at you guys than the Democrats” Beck explained. Beck went on to say that conservatives didn’t expect “socialism” from some members of the GOP. Steele’s response: “You have absolutely no reason, none, to trust our word or our actions at this point.”

video is funny too.

Republicans in the house betrayed conservatives by not voting for the stimulus? What is Beck expecting?

I believe he was expecting what he got - another chance to invoke the ghostly spectre of socialism. Seriously, watch - in the next four years, socialism will replace terror as the right’s ‘fear-word’ du jour, to be whipped out whenever they want to short circuit debate.

As uttered by Palin.

Tricky is excellent, but those lyrics need raw power and Chuck D has that in spades.
