I’ve been listening to the album on my HD-600s and the clipping is atrocious in some parts. As in, worse than Californication. I was noticing it last night even on my car stereo - which is miles below my headphones in terms of aural quality. With the added fidelity it becomes astounding to me that this got released.

The bass gets buried in the mix as well, which I find to be shocking given what I had heard regarding Lars and James desire to not repeat what they did to Newsted on …And Justice. I mean, I thought they honestly liked and respected Trujello. I’m sure the man is doing some sick bass work on this stuff - I’d like to be able to hear it.

I might need to pick up the GHIII/GHWT album simply to enjoy the music.

As much as I like Megadeth, I’m not buying any of Peace Sells. I listened to it with an ear to playing drums and guitar, and there’s just no way. Maybe if I somehow magically turn into Sluggo.

You know there’s 4 difficulty levels, right?

I’m sympathetic to that. Songs that I can’t play on Hard (and am unlikely to practice for, like the Thrash pack back in the day) aren’t worth it for me even if I like the song. However, in the case of this pack, if you like Megadeth, it has a variety of difficulty levels even within the 5 DEVIL HORNS OMIGOD rating that most of the album has. For instance, a song like the Conjuring is simply ridiculous, vs stuff on the level of Good Mourning/Black Friday and I Ain’t Superstitious (only 4 stars, IIRC) which is much more approachable. Maybe people on the fence should go the RBDLC.com route and check out the videos, as individual purchases might work out better.

And I say that as the proud holder (yesterday) of rank number 415…out of 417 in the Peace Sells band battle.

I play everything on hard now and Megadeth is teh sexy!

Yes, but I can’t drop the difficulty mid-set, and aside from crazy shit like this I always play on Expert.

The drums on expert look incredibly un-fun. I’m getting sick of all these metal drum charts where you’re just stomping the shit out of the bass pedal for 5 minutes. That’s just not enjoyable… especially not when you’ve got this flimsy piece of plastic for a pedal.

Buy an aftermarket pedal then?

It’s still not fun, but at least you don’t break your pedal or your leg.

Well, I don’t play expert guitar or drums much because I don’t want to work that damn hard to have fun!

Drums get more fun the higher the difficulty. Easy and Medium were totally dull, basically just playing a backbeat every song. Whereas Black Hole Sun and Go With The Flow on Expert are pure awesome. Metal songs just seem to have really fast but not especially interesting drums.

Wasn’t someone on here recently asking for some Sleater-Kinney? Well your prayers have been answered.

Sweet.

That’s one GHWT song down.

It’s going to be an expensive Tuesday for me. Rush, Stone Roses, Bad Religion and the Cult all in one week!

Man, I’m going to have to set a budget for myself or I’m going to spend $20 a week on DLC soon.

Guitar Hero is dead to me.

OMG, my wife is going to flip when I tell her about She Sells Sanctuary! We were just talking about how cool that song would be in RB.

Wooo! She Sells Sanctuary was the only song on GH:Aerosmith that I played more than than I had to for achievements. And Sorrow in the same week? swoon

Love Spreads? Fuck yes! Also, about time we got some more Brit rock.
