Damn it. I’d much rather have Rick Astley over Spongebob.
So besides the Toby Keith six-pack next week, we’re also getting:
- “Warriors of Time” – Black Tide
- “Waking The Demon” – Bullet For My Valentine
- “New Slang” – The Shins
Anyone heard of these? I never thought I’d be asking this question in this thread, but what genre of music is it?
New Slang is a good song. It was on the Garden State soundtrack. I think it already came out for GH:WT.

I think I’ve had way more than my fill of Warriors of Time by playing NHL 09…
Oh yeah, New Slang, good song. Not exactly challenging I wouldn’t think, but I might check it out just the same.
I’ve heard Bullet for my Valentine, but I’m not real familiar with them. Black Tide sounds familiar. Metal maybe? BV is goth music, I believe.

I’m thrilled about it. I’ve always thought that there are a few Shins songs that would be good in rhythm games (I haven’t tried it on Guitar Hero). Unfortunately, I usually don’t think that strummed acoustic guitar translates very well, so New Slang is one of the better choices from their catalog, gameplay-wise.

Yeah, Black Tide is a new metal band (not a nu-metal band, just recent). They’ve already got one song on DLC, Shockwave, which is awesome.
The Shins! Hell yes! It is kinda bland indie rock, but it should be really fun for Rock Band.
It’s a promotional dealy with the new Star Trek movie from the fine folks at HMX.
Sadly, only Americans from the 50 states or District of Columbia, need apply.

Wow, that Shins song is seriously… not… rocking. Ugh.

The other two non Toby Fuckin’ Keith songs look solid enough.
(Edit: due to rampant music blockination, try here to see and hear the new DLC)

Is it just me, or are these Toby Keith songs much worse than the previous country pack? I think I’d prefer the sampler style “lots of tracks by different artists” approach to Country rather than going so deep on one meh-tastic artist.

I think listening to “She’s a Hottie” just dropped my IQ by about 10 points. I blame Jesus.

I was forced to buy the Spongebob pack.
Of course it was due to my 11 year old daughter wanting it.
The music companies - Surprise! - are fucking stupid! They keep taking down Youtube videos of new Rock Band DLC, thus shooting themselves in the foot again. Somebody somewhere should tell these fucking suits that they are taking down free advertising. Idjits.

Wow, are they really? That’s insane…I’d never buy unrecognized DLC for RB unless I could check it out on Youtube first.

According the 1up, the PSP version of Rock Band has the following songs announced for it:
I assume (and they pretty much confirm) that all this stuff is going to be forthcoming as DLC at some point in the future. I’m happy about Would and ABC. Now let’s get I Want You Back and Over Now.

In accordance with Rock Band’s quelling of anything related to adult themes, I’m wondering how the “Cleveland Steamer” line in Rock Your Socks is going to play out.
Would? Wow. That would be fantastic. I’d also like Angry Chair, because it would be fun to play on drums.

Woo! I loved Miss Murder on GH3; now we just need Cliffs of Dover and Lay Down and I can officially throw that game in the trash.
As much as I like Freezepop, I don’t actually like playing them. Unless they re-chart it so you just press one button to start the sequencer.
Also, yay! to Kriptonite.

On an unrelated note, considering MTV owns Rock Band, I am a little surprised that we have never heard anything about them trying to release their MTV Unplugged albums of Nirvana or Alice in Chains. Or Pearl Jam, for that matter, though I don’t believe they ever released that performance.
