I bet they’re really easy to work with, like Harmonix can have any song they want for a pre-arranged price, masters are all clean and available, and they just don’t have to beat their head against the wall like with most bands.

MOAR DKM PLZ!
(Also some Flogging Molly would be wonderful).

I think they have some sort of knowledge/appreciation for Rock Band, Grohl and the rest of the band have auctioned off a few Rock Band sets signed for charity before in association with HMX, so I assume they must be close-ish.
Man oh man I’d love to have The Pretender for DLC. I realize this is rude to all of you who are complaining about the embarrassment of riches we already have of Foo Fighters’ songs. But I just freaking love singing that song.

No Rain was great in Guitar Hero. I wish they’d have thrown in Tones of Home, but I’ll buy it all over again.
The Pretender is the only song from GH3 DLC that I bought and miss.

Yes, don’t be like the Rush fans.

I’d be the happiest gamer in all the world if they ever released Flogging Molly DLC.

Only if it included “Drink and fight”

I can think of no reason why the entire Rush catalog from, say, 1974 to 1990 is not already available as DLC. The rest I could do without.

I can think of one. It rhymes with lush trucks.

I’d kill for their cover of Baker Street.
For the record, there is one more (I threw the live one in to emphasize they were good live in their own way and because of random dancing guy 1:14 through the video). But you’re half right.
RB and GH have conspired to have so much Rush content that my interest in them has peaked and faded. I’d be moderately interested in playing parts of 2011 in a perfect world where Harmonix edited that into pieces, especially the Temples of Syrinx, but at this point I’m fine with Tom Sawyer and Closer to the Heart (what? Great note chart) being the only ones I replay by choice. Perhaps at this point it would be ok to declare a moratorium on putting YYZ into fake rock games as well. It would be tragic if GH5 only allows “all or nothing” imports that make me have it yet again.

I must say, I’d prefer their version of Band on the Run over Wings’ original from GH4.
It’s 2112.
I’d certainly welcome additional albums as DLC (especially Permanent Waves), but not to the detriment of other releases. If they finally get a decent a-la-carte system off the ground where there’s a huge catalog to select from, rather than a few releases per week, I could see adding more Rush. But as a weekly release, non-Rush fans wouldn’t be entirely unjustified in crying foul.
There are plenty of bands out there deserving of the spotlight that have barely any content in either game.
I really like Inside Out by Eve6. Great song that should be a lot of fun to sing and perform in RB. My wife will be thrilled with No Rain. She loves that song, and I think it’s fun too. But I’m not sure it’s a great fit for RB.
And we can add to that a cover of Keep The Car Running and just have a Foo Fighters cover pack! Or maybe Down in the Park!
edit: I don’t think they’ve actually recorded Keep the Car Running, just performed it live.
You might be pleasantly surprised, then, if the GHWT version is anything to go by. The only thing I’m not optimistic about is how it will fare for drummers, but I have a tough time predicting a lot of those.
From the same press release that announced the three Beatles album downloads:
Tracks from Queen, Nirvana, Tom Petty, Elton John, Iggy Pop, The White Stripes, Pantera and More Coming Soon to the “Rock Band™” Platform
Sweet! Finally some Queen DLC. I hope the Nirvana includes Smells Like Teen Spirit. That would be one less reason to get Guitar Hero 5.
The Three Missing album songs from Nirvana would be perfect.
Huzzah! And the press release also mentions The Raconteurs–for fellow Jack White junkies, and Korn, who I’m not necessarily excited about, but they’re another one of the bands big enough from my adolescence that I’ve wondered if they’d appear in these games.
