And obviously unless you’ve been hiding under a rock this week is the Queen pack.
Can’t. Wait.
I may have to find an excuse to have a party just for seeing drunk people with Queen, which is always an entertaining combination.
Isn’t that the truth? I haven’t been this excited about a DLC release… ever, really.
Topped only by the Who pack. And forum favorite, Doolittle.
Very excited for the Queen pack. The Who pack was awesome. Didn’t even download Doolittle.
Although I absolutely loved Screaming for Vengeance, Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?, Texas Flood, and the Tap Ten, nothing has even come close to how excited I was for the Iron Maiden pack. It still tops them all.
That reminds me - I have “my generation - live version” bought and downloaded, but I don’t see it in the to-buy list (with “Purchased” next to it). What’s the deal with vanishing DLC?

Soooo the new Joe Satriani tracks. Hilarious on expert, right? I failed out about 1 second into the first solo.
“Surfing With the Alien” isn’t that difficult to beat with selective use of overdrive; I beat it on my second try. Still can’t beat “Satch Boogie” though. I think I may actually have to dig out my RB Strat and try it with the solo buttons.

Fuck yes. I went home that night and played the SHIT out of those songs. So great.
This 250MB download of the Queen 10-pack is killing me. Why are the servers so slow today? 80% complete! Come on, come on, come on!

Think it through, grasshopper.
I know what you’re implying, but it’s probably the Beatles’ Abbey Road download that was slowing it down for everyone.
Verdict: That was awesome. It’s so different when I was playing the Queen songs because it is one band for which I know every note and am expecting every note with exquisite timing as it comes down the pipe. With some songs I know well, I didn’t really concentrate on the guitar parts when I played the songs for the first time in Rock Band or Guitar Hero, but this time, I knew every note. And it felt great to be able to play it!
A couple of complaints on playing on Hard difficulty: Fat-bottomed Girls has a solo or two that felt a little empty on Hard. I’m going to have to play it on Expert to get the sensation of playing every note. Also, Somebody to Love apparently has almost no guitar, because for 90% of the song, they have you playing along with the piano instead. The piano! I was amused and annoyed by that at the same time. If I’d known in advance, I would have picked bass.
Second, and bigger complaint: Where the heck is the Queen Challenge? Every single time I’ve downloaded a song-pack or album before, there’s automatically been a challenge that compiles all the songs together for me. But there was no new challenge today after downloading the Queen challenge. They need to fix that pronto. I don’t want to have to pick the Queen songs through sorting and all that bullshit again. That’s what the challenges are for! They group the songs together for you.
Is Rockman they only one playing this stuff? I ended up skipping the Queen pack for now in favor of Abbey Road. I’m interested in how people like them on guitar and drums, though. The guitar seems fun, but I’m more likely to want to play guitar in RB:Beatles and I feel like the Queen drummer mostly just keeps a beat, at least in these songs…

Most of the Queen pack was entertaining on guitar, with the exception of one in which the “guitar” part was actually a piano part, and another that was just boring. I haven’t tried the other instruments yet. I wasn’t much of a Queen fan, but I enjoyed the songs much more than I thought I would. I recognized a lot of songs I didn’t know by name. I’m guessing this will be fun (but difficult) to sing; my wife likes Queen and knows the words.

The Queen challenge is on the Headliners level.
Thanks Arioch. For some reason a “New” didn’t appear on that level for me to tell me there was a new challenge there. I’ll have to give it a look after work tonight.

I realize it’s a more accurate chart, but I’m kind of disappointed with this version of Killer Queen compared to the GH version. There is an awful lot of sitting around.
The drum charting is nothing special, but it’s also not as boring as AC/DC or Weezer, and I play those songs to death. So far I only picked up four tracks, but if they grow on me I may get more.

Playing guitar while my 11 year old daughter sang Fat Bottom Girls…THAT is why I love this game.

HEY YEAH! I’M THE ONE THAT YOU WANTED!
HEY YEAH! I’M YOUR SUPERBEAST!
Is it bad that I’m as excited for these three Rob Zombie songs as I was for the Queen Pack? I’ll probably get “Woman” for the nostalgia value too.

Is there any point having Morningwood in the game without the realistic boob physics of DOA?
