Hey now, leave Green Day out of this. It’s not their fault emos have come up around them.

Looks like Green Day is getting their own game, that might explain some of the DLC decisions http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/464452/green-day-perform-american-idiot-on-rock-band.jhtml#id=1615459

Nice. I’ll hope for a good amount of their older work of course, as much as I like American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown. Just gotta have more Dookie.

I hope they do the smart thing and don’t Beatles this one, I’d really rather be able to export this.

So, when do we get Rock Band:Foo Fighters, with Pat Smear’s unlicensed likeness?

whaaaat?

This better be a standalone DLC pack like AC/DC but with better support for avatars of the band and venues.

(I always wondered why the AC/DC pack didn’t have band avatars and a few common venues they’ve tended to play at)

I sure hope they gave the motorcycle enough throttle because I’d hate to see a shark get hurt.

(Assuming it is a standalone and not a track pack, of course.)

Even as a track pack, that’s kind of disappointing. I was hoping to get American Idiot and maybe one or two other songs from them. I don’t need a whole game’s worth cluttering up my library.

kinda old news though…

“In addition, the track list will be fully exportable, giving players the opportunity to play the songs in Rock Band™ and Rock Band 2™ on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3”

Glorified track pack. Where’s the real RB3?

Rock Band: Led Zeppelin -Oh yeah!

Rock Band: Rolling Stones -Woot!

Rock Band: Pink Floyd -Dude!

Rock Band: Green Day? -ROFLMAO!!!

The more Rock Band track packs we get, and are retail successes, the more people like Jimmy Page are going to realize they can actually make some money on this thing. So, yes, Green Day – bring it on!

The Beatles sold a little over 1 Million copies so far world wide. The Beatles!

Naturally, Green Day is the band that will improve on that!

Greenday? Lame. Why can’t we–

Oh. Sold.

If I say that Floyd sounds like the least fun of those (all awesome) bands to play in Rock Band, do I lose my rock cred?

What if I don’t care about any Zep beyond The Immigrant Song?

Floyd, Stones, and Green day? All over it. For all the snark Green Day gets they’ve put out consistently great albums and taken chances. I’m all over that game.

Agreed. Too much down time.

Here’s the DLC announcement for the week of 12/22! PS3 content should be hitting a little early because of the holiday this week, so enjoy your early presents! There’s some great family friendly tracks coming out so be sure to check them out in LEGO Rock Band if you log in any play time with the family this week.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3 system (Dec. 22):

Weezer – “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To” +
Weezer – “Beverly Hills”
Weezer – “Let It All Hang Out”
Limp Bizkit – “Build a Bridge” +
The Offspring – “A Lot Like Me” +
Yellowcard – “Ocean Avenue” +

Um, ok.

I might be the only one, but I’m buying that Limp Bizkit track. I might buy Ocean Avenue as well.

I can’t say I’ve ever heard Build a Bridge. I’d have expected say Rollin’ or Break Stuff for Bizkit’s first Rock Band release, really.

Yellowcard…sigh. They hold a special place of hate in my heart with The Format, when alternative/punk radio started turning into emo.

At least they heralded the beginning of balls-in-throat weak riff whining here in Phoenix. Elsewhere, damned if I know. I place unreasonable responsibility on their heads for allowing the single worst lyric in any Rock Band game to exist.

As far as I know it wasn’t a single. It’s a weird choice off of the Results May Vary album. It’s an enjoyable song, but it’s not typical Limp Bizkit in that it’s pretty slow and quiet.
