a rather nice week, but I’m worried about the (Live) designation on the Wings tracks. Also, I guess, since it’s just Paul McCartney and not Wings. Sucks that even GH:WT had masters of this stuff.

In January, GH5 is getting Joe Bonnamassa (awesome blues guitarist, saw him with B.B. King.) and

Creedence Clearwater Revival :

  • Travelin Band
  • Bad Moon Rising
  • Proud Mary

HMX, what the fuck?

What’s wrong with Creedence? I love it, and the cover of Fortunate Son is one of my faves (only wish it wasn’t a cover). A lot better than all the thrasher music among the DLC. Plus, everyone knows Bad Moon Rising and Proud Mary.

I’m pretty sure he wants the Creedence, just not in GH5.

Finally, something decent for GH5 DLC.

Oops, I obviously misunderstood. I didn’t read the “GH5” up there. I was getting all set to buy the DLC for RB2. Damn.

I got Rock Band for Christmas, and was wondering what people’s favorite DLC tracks are? I saw a thread about this earlier, but my google-fu is failing me now. I’m particularly interested in songs with good charts, since I can find the music I like myself. Or if you can find the thread, even better.

Foo Fighters. If you like drumming, get every single track.

Blue Sky and Texas Flood are epic on guitar.

Also for drummers, Iron Maiden is good (but hard). Slipknot as well…

Other Epic Guitar Songs: Working Man, Most Iron Maiden.

Definitely get the Maiden pack.

I played almost exclusively on expert drums, so my picks are skewed toward that:

Rush - all of it
System of a Down - Toxicity
Dream Theater - Constant Motion
Soundgarden - Jesus Christ Pose
Smashing Pumpkins - Siva
Metallica - Blackened

That’s all I can remember.

My favorites for DLC:

Most of the Pearl Jam Ten pack
Lithium - Nirvana
Siva - Smashing Pumpkins
No Rain - Blind Melon
Carry On My Wayward Son - Kansas
More than a Feeling - Boston
Hysteria - Muse
Skullcrusher Mountain - Jonathan Coulton

I’ll have to think on some more to add, but these I always find to be fun to play.

No Rain - Blind Melon

Warning : horrible drum track.

Oh, and most Nirvana tends to be good for drummers too (it’s Grohl, so that makes sense).

I typically don’t play vocals, so they don’t figure into my recommendations.

Jethro Tull: Hymn 43 (drums and guitar, not sure about bass)
Stone Temple Pilots: Interstate Love Song (I like both the bass and the drums)
James Gang: Funk 49 (drums and bass, guitar’s pretty good, too)
RHCP: Breaking the Girl (drums, guitar is pretty good also)

I would echo the recommendations of most of the Pearl Jam 10 album for all instruments. Blue Sky (by the Allman Brothers) is my favorite guitar song in the game, hands down. The Boston is all pretty fun to play. I think that Iron Maiden is typically too hard and not very fun.

Blue Sky vies only with Franklin’s Tower (by the Grateful Dead) as my favorite extended guitar song. Highly recommended.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. It’s just a fun song though.

Also, anything by Stone Temple Pilots is golden. Most Rush is good - I would especially recommend the original Limelight, Tom Sawyer, and YYZ.

Most of the Who pack is tremendous too.

Tenacious D - Tribute
Stevie Ray Vaughn - Mary had a little lamb

Both great on guitar.
