Thanks guys. Now I need to go to the Bargain Thread and get more points.

I discovered Flobots and Fratellis through Rockband, I like them both. In particular the Fratellis have some great guitar bits.

Having played “Tenacious D - Tribute” six times this evening I proclaim this song to be the greatest and best song in RB2. There, I said it. I mean it has two endings for christ sake. The first one ends on a power note then there’s this reeeeeally long pause, then a nice soft bit. It’s like having two endings and any song with two endings is ****ing awesome in my book.

I didn’t mention Tribute before, but I figure it’s like a given that everyone should get this song.

Only thing that may annoy some people is that the drums and bass don’t come in until after the extended intro, but when they do they are quite fun. This is a tremendous Voxtar song as well.

I’m still horrified that you recommend STP over a selection from Pearl Jam/Ten, which almost everyone finds a compelling addition to a collection. I favor Porch, Even Flow, Once, but most of the album is great for RB purposes.

Is this in reference to me? If so, Pearl Jam was my very first suggestion from my earlier posting on the subject.

All my favorite songs - Master Exploder, Chop Suey, Ramblin’ Man - are way too hard for me to play on expert guitar :(

EDIT: But, yay Carry on my Wayward Son!

Indeed you did, and I stand corrected.

How can I forget Love Spreads? Jeez! It’s a must have for guitar since the whole song plays like a solo.

My favorite drum song in the game is Colony of Birchmen.

Harmonox : Moar Mastodon Pleeze.

Also not mentioned, most of Jane’s Addiction is fantastic on drums. This does not include Jane Says and Summertime Rolls.

Also, the All American Rejects songs are great on drums. As long as you don’t mind a vocalist who sounds like he’s going to start crying any second.

And if you like 8 year old singers, get Blink 182!

The last 2 minutes of Ted Just Admit It will test your manhood. (or lack thereof in my case)

I flame out at 96% every time.

Does anyone else like “I’m Gone, I’m Going” on expert drums? No? Just me?!

So that update we’ve were waiting for with the sort by stars, has it already gone live? Because it’s apparently hitting this week for Europe, but I could’ve sworn we already had it. (Although admittedly I haven’t been on my own RB2 for a while to check.)

What’s the story on Rock Band Network or whatever that let’s indie bands submit their music? Anything new been announced?

Also, does anyone play this online still? I was on last night and it took an extraordinary amount of time to find other people to play with.

there’s a new patch for PS3, but I get the impression it just brings it to parity with Xbox 360. RBN is still in beta testing.

I think the beta testing only started about two or three weeks ago, so it might be a while before we see the grand final product.
