Woah! Is this for real? A techno song in regular Rock Band? One I love? Awesome!
Here’s hoping the instruments are as interesting as the vocals on the Redding stuff. Maybe they’ll put the horn sections on guitar.
And I don’t see Rock Band going anywhere, even if the boxed releases slow down. The DLC business model may not be as exciting as selling $250 bundles of plastic and discs, but it’s more sustainable…as long as Harmonix can continue to cover the licensing agreements. Labels may even give DLC rates if they believe the marketing and promotion aspects of Rock Band releases are good investments.

I watched Youtube videos last night and only ended up buying Hanger 18 and Tornado of Souls, and I probably won’t be able to finish Hanger 18 anyway. You know it’s a brutal song when the guys making the video are missing notes.
This week’s releases. I’ll probably just get the Manson and call it a week.
HIM – “Heartkiller” +
HIM – “Ode to Solitude”
HIM – “Wings of a Butterfly”
KSM – “Distracted” +
Marilyn Manson – “The Dope Show”
One Night Only – “Just For Tonight” +
The Police – “Walking On the Moon” +

That sounds about right, although the Manson I have already has kind of a shitty drum track so I’m skeptical.
Dude, awesome drum track and a pretty good bass line. I’ll at least have to get this one.
WTF has happened to Rock Band DLC recently?

I maintain that they’re trolling. Aside from Rust In Peace. That was awesome.
Just Walking On The Moon for me. I still haven’t used all the points I bought a month ago. Hopefully March is as awesome as last year.

Buying Wings of a Butterfly would be a pretty overt admission that I like the song, so there’s no way that’s happening. Guess it’ll just be the Manson song for me.
Holy shit, SRV was a YEAR AGO?!
No funk in over a year… :(
Whoa - that’s gonna be some pretty insane drum coding on expert, if I’m remembering some of Copeland’s hi-hat work on that song correctly.
Nor any classic late 60’s/early 70’s rock.
Hey, now, what about “White Rabbit”? That was released in August.
OK, true, and I bought it. But I mean stuff like CCR and BTO.
Okay. I’m with you on that. No CCR, no BTO, no GFR, no ELO, but we did get some REO.

I’m hoping that Harmonix drops the whole “No covers!” rule. (Or at least doesn’t apply it to Rock Band Network.) The Fortunate Son cover is good enough that I would instantly download some more CCR of considerable qualtiy.
