Don’t be knocking The Hockey Theme. I’m sure it’s completely meaningless to most Americans, but it’s probably the single best-known piece of recorded music in Canada and is widely seen as our second national anthem. There isn’t a Canadian alive who can’t hum along with the tune.

So I sorted my tracks by “location” and I’m a bit surprised that I’ve downloaded and paid for 242 songs even before diving into RBN.

You made me curious, so I just checked my own Rock Band 2. It says I have 210 downloaded songs. Not bad.

Holy @#$%, the Hockey Theme? Srsly? That’s awesome. And it’s the Neil Peart version? That’s awesomer.

You can’t really compare it to Hank. It’s anthemic, not some cheeseball hokey cowboy crap.

Alas, we finally get some Kate Bush, and it’s a cover. At least it’s the original cover. Next week: Angra’s version of Wuthering Heights.

I was just thinking yesterday, now that “Even Rats” and that Freezepop song are in Rock Band, we’re pretty close to getting all the bonus songs I loved from Guitar Hero 1. This checks another one off the list. Now, we just need “Cavemen Rejoice” and I’m a happy camper.

“All of This” was my absolute favorite bonus track in GH, so I am stoked that it’s finally coming over! Especially after I was disappointed by the other Shaimus track that was previously released as RB2 DLC.

No, to be fair, I think I DO actually know the tune which is weird because I only enjoyed watching hockey for about 3 games one season when I was very young.

I have now listened to the original version and the Cartman version. I think that I should get the one from South Park for free for having survived the experience. I’m definitely having a “get off my lawn” moment right now with respect to kids these days and their music.
