I am lame. I like playing the drums without the kick pedal. Now I can play on medium or even hard. Lego ftw.
The thing is that Lego Rock Band sold for $50 at retail. So If you didn’t want to export, the game was slightly cheaper. Or you could pay the normal $60 price for a PS3 or 360 game and export the songs.
The fact that Green Day: Rock Band is charging $10 and selling for $60 at retail is, quite simply, bullshit. There’s no “a bit” about it, it’s double-dipping. For me, it’s pushed the game from a definite buy to a to a purchase once it hits the bargain bin. It’s not like $10 is some insurmountable sum, but it’s the principle of the thing.

Lego RB’s soft fail mode is great for parties w/ people that wanna play on challenging difficulties, but don’t quite have the chops. Significantly nicer than starting over, for sure.
If you can get LegoRB for cheap and brand new (to enable the export), I would recommend it as a strong side entry into the series.

Yes, as much as I really want a bunch of new Green Day songs, it’s not worth $70 to me. Not even close.
Apparently if you preorder at Gamestop you get the export code thrown in for free.
The way I see it, that makes it even worse.

Is there a way to see the newest songs from the RBN itself, or do we have to look it up on the internet? I see a “top 10 new songs”, but what I want to see is all the newest songs regardless of how they’re rated.
Another quibble: the RBN songs aren’t divided into named sections for practice mode, just into divisions of 10%. If the guitar solo you want to practice starts 65% of the way through the song, you’re going to be practicing 60% to 65% too.
My biggest complaint with the RBN is the ratings system. You can’t sort the song full list by rating, and when you look at a song’s rating, it’s pretty much always 4 stars since there is no indicator for decimal points. I appreciate that there is a ratings system in place, unfortunately it’s nearly useless.
I’ve just been looking at dlcquickplay.com, they’re pretty good at keeping up.
In case anyone’s interested, NewEgg has the AC/DC track pack for the 360 or the PS3 for $9.99, with free shipping.

It’s good that we can look up RBN new releases on the net, but I don’t understand why RBN doesn’t have a new release page listing the last two weeks’ new songs like the regular Rock Band store does. Seems like an obvious thing to include.

RBN does have a “new releases” section but I don’t know if it’s the last 2 weeks… the last few times I used it, it did show new-ish tracks.
Me either. In fact, I have so much music at this point, I’d put my price point closer to $20. By Christmas time, I’d expect to pick it up somewhere around that.

Is RBN supposed to be working in Canada yet? I don’t see it anywhere.
It’s there. I’m in Edmonton, and I’ve gotten a bunch of RBN tracks already.
Are you using a PS3? RBN is currently available only on the XBox 360; the PS3 is slated for a subset of RBN songs after 30 days of 360 exclusivity. Theoretically, the first PS3 tracks would be available April 4.

Green Day is gonna be a wait a year until it really hits the bargain bins purchase for me, especially given that RB3 is (theoretically) going to be a holiday 2010 release. Look how much the AC/DC pack is running right now (granted it’s been a few years since it came out). Or even the Beatles, which was steeply discounted not too long after release. I justify not supporting Harmonix this way by buying shloads of DLC.

Nope, 360. I go to the Music Store and there’s no RBN option there.
Did your game update with a patch? It needs the patch first. Also, rb2 only.
