Drums for BO’R are fun, though on the easy side and borderline not worth the sitting around it takes. It’s got some really fun fills, though that I think put it over the top.
The most recent DLC was growing stale very fast and this really brings me back to the game. I just played through most of it on guitar and every song is fun to play.
I think this release is not only among the best things to happen to rhythm games, it could even be a great thing for music in general. No band of the Who’s rocktasticness has ever released more than a handful of songs into these games. I wouldn’t mind living in a future where a few more of the youngins list the Who amongst their favorite bands after being turned onto an album’s worth of it in Rock Band.

Count me as one of those youngins’ who never really heard The Who before this release and now loves them.
I think that the crowd sing-along works even better on Who Are You. It almost felt like actually being there.
The Who pack is, by far, the best DLC yet. And even though I am more of a classic Who fan myself, a later Who song like Eminence Front works out amazingly well too. It all just rocks!
I would have preferred You Better You Bet for late period Who, but hopefully that will be in later DLC.
Yeah, I’m happy to see Mindless Self Indulgence and In Flames. Even if it’s In Flames doing their best Linkin Park impression. :(

Get thee to Quadrophenia immediately!
As a life long Who fan, this pack makes me so incredibly happy that a new generation of rock music fans will see the brilliance of the band. Sea & Sand has always been one of my favorite Who songs and just screams teen angst.
After playing the guitar part, I take back my complaints about waiting around in BO’R on the drums. It’s waaaay more painful on guitar than any of the other instruments. I didn’t realize just how long you have to sit around doing nothing even after the other instruments start going.

I think its funny that for everyone’s love of BO’R, no one realized that it was never a ‘guitar’ song except for a short solo here and there.
Actually alot of Who songs showcased the band’s many talents. Pete is such a proficient musician he also plays banjo, accordion, synth, piano, horns and bass. It wasn’t always about the guitar.
Didn’t get Baba for the reasons given above. Too much waiting…

My sister is observing high school English classes to get her teaching degree. In one class, the teacher had students bring in their favorite songs to analyze as poetry. My sister expected rap and other crap, but every single male student brought in a song from one of the Guitar Heroes or Rock Band – Remones and other good stuff.
I stayed at Pete Townshend’s house for the weekend once. I spent most of the time crying, but then I was only about one year old at the time.
Yeah, I was expecting the wait (a la WGFA), but the simplicity of the guitar line surprised me. I’d bet Harmonix wouldn’t have chosen it if it wasn’t such an iconic song and part of the long promised Who’s Next track list.
Speaking of which, the prevailing wisdom is that the first half of the Who’s Next tracks were lost, which caused the delay in releasing on RB. But Baba O’Reilly is the first song on the album. Alternate take or is the prevailing wisdom wrong?
Got a replacement drum pedal yesterday. The plastic on the new one is much thicker, with extra reinforcement. Hopefully, it’ll last.
Good to hear. I’ve got one in the mail.
I sent off for a new pedal, and they told me they’d ship a box for me to return mine since I didn’t want a hold on my card for cross shipping. So the box arrives, and it’s got a new pedal in it. Is that there way of saying “It’s just a pedal, we don’t want your broken one back anyway” or should I still mail mine back?
I just don’t want to be screwed if this one breaks too and I try to get another and they see I never shipped back my first one and think I’m trying to run some devious pedal scam.
Pretty sure that the idea is that they aren’t just giving away extra pedals. I think they want the old one as proof, so to speak, of just the sort of thing you mention.
We all know you have a pedal fetish.

For Who fans. VH1 Rock honors The Who tonight at 9EST. Looks like a nice guest list of performers.

Available via Xbox Live on Tuesday, July 22 for 440 Microsoft Points ($5.49) will be a Nine Inch Nails three-pack including “Burn”, “Capital G”, and “Last”.
From Shinedown, the tracks “Devour” and “Junkies For Fame” will be added to the game. Each track will be available separately for 160 Microsoft Points ($1.99) each.
I don’t know who Shinedown is, but I’m super super excited about the NIN pack.
Oh hell yes, more NIN! Great tracks selected.
I don’t know of this Shinedown, but of the several genres they’re listed under, Southern Rock is one of them, so I’ll be giving them a lookie.

Thumbs down on “Burn” (from the Natural Born Killers soundtrack?), just seems kinda meh. The other two NIN tracks are great!
Shinedown sounds fun enough; solid, if unremarkable, rock. I’ve heard far worse DLC, anyway.
