Is it any better other than having Bass? (More songs, etc). As someone who is learning guitar (lessons, etc) I find Rocksmith frustrating. I wish it could just show regular tab.
I think the next closest thing I’ve seen was Elemental’s release on Impulse.
I’m floored this is finally coming out for the PC at all. I had actually given up on ever seeing it…
Sword of the Stars II.
Legends of Pegasus.
Red Orchestra 2.
Had to be the space games dinnit? ;-)
Ok, since I own both the PS3 and Steam version I’ll clear some things up.
The game is available on Steam right now, if you pre-purchase you get a feature complete beta right away. There’s also a free demo.
It includes the Bass DLC. You can switch seamlessly between your guitar and bass profiles in game, simply by pressing tab.
The PS3 cable (and 360) works perfectly and can be used with other PC software like Guitar Rig and Amplitube too.
The loading times are so much faster than the PS3 version that it makes for a massively better experience. Switching to the Amp mode is pretty much instant.
It appears the Steam release and the upcoming retail release with cable are identical - the retail game is Steamworks.
I never thought this was coming out.
I didn’t ask for this.
Just tried the demo… much nicer looking (of course) on PC and the load times are non existent. The lag between guitar and audio on the PC bothers me though. It’s not terrible but it’s different than I hear out of my amp. Anyway to fix that? (other than maybe not using USB as your interface mechanism)
There’s a PDF configuration guide in one of the folders somewhere that tells you how to set the sound properties in Windows and also gives some ini file tweaks.
I changed my settings as suggested and lag is pretty much undetectable now.
There’s a setting in options to use tab mode.
Can someone explain what this game is? Will it help someone who is just starting to learn guitar?
I have an acoustic with a jack, will it work with it?
Rocksmith is a learning tool that will help you learn great songs on the guitar. There’s also some arcade-y lessons that teach you a bunch of guitar skills. Every song has auto-adjustable difficulty levels by section so the game is playable from beginners to experts. I think it’s pretty awesome. I believe an acoustic w/ jack should work but you may want to confirm online.
