It’s quite clear that you’ve never had an original thought in your fucking brain.

My mom is female and conservative. I don’t hate her for that. The way she cooked carrots is another story. Anyways, I don’t like Palin because she’s an idiot who can’t even compose a sentence. Also. Tell me brettcmd, how did taxing oil companies to redistribute wealth in a socialist manner represent Palin’s belief in small government?
I’ve been waiting for months for you to answer that.

HAH! I’m still waiting for the son of a bitch to admit the bullshit mathematics he attempted to use in the healthcare thread.
I hope you’re enjoying your straw.

You ARE funny. I’m not upvoting because she can’t help being female, and if you or anyone else thinks that she’s the only female on the planet who is conservative, you really should tell us the medical cocktail you must be drinking. I fear her only if she were to become President. Otherwise she’s always good for laughs.

I don’t think I’ve seen a more obvious troll on this board, and that’s saying something.
You’re posting in a thread that has over 3,000 responses, many of which refer directly to crazy things that Palin has both said and done.
We’re not on post six here where we’re just talking platitudes. It’s been two years and there’s enough of a record to prove that the people posting here don’t hate Palin just because she is female and conservative.
Well geez, don’t hand him more straw.
Most marginal political figures, which is in the end all Palin will be, say and do stupid things. The vast majority of them dont incite the hatred and fear that Palin has. So there has to be some other reason for it. She would be gone from the public light without all of it, and thats where she belongs, she would make a bad president and we for certain dont need any more of those then we have already had in the last two.
Than. Than we have had.
And, OK, for reals my man, you are saying it is the fault of liberals that Sarah Palin is getting so much public attention? I mean seriously, just spell that out for me. It’s not the fault of the people who buy her book or give her a show on Fox or pay her thousands of dollars to come and talk to them or that attend her rallies that she’s in the public eye? It’s our fault? Because I am going to feel pretty damn bad about it if it’s true. Convince me.

So the 103 pages of documentation of her idiocy aren’t the real reason we call her an idiot. Gotcha.
Wait, she tweeeted again?
Obama speech tonite may make u dig out ur old Orwell books so rewritten history can be deciphered, depending on who gets credit 4 Iraq surge
Truly an under-appreciated genius for our times.
Which Orwell books am I supposed to dig out? I don’t understand.
Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf-sniping-former-governor-of-Alaska? Seriously though, Palin doesn’t scare me and she never did. When my registered Republican car mechanic volunteered the information that he voted for Obama because he “didn’t think Sarah Palin one heartbeat away from the Oval Office was a good thing” without me even mentioning politics, I knew without a doubt that the majority of reasonable people could and do see right through Sarah Palin.
Homework is the effort you’re supposed to put forth to prove them* right. It’s your job, not theirs, to find out that Obama is a communo-fascist with a radical leftist agenda/administration and that the Demon-crats want to turn this country into an atheist Muslim Nazi Soviet Union. If you attempt to press people on these points, calling them ‘highly unlikely’ or otherwise, the response you get is something like, “do your homework!” or “educate yourself!”
And no, it doesn’t make any sense.
*Whoever told you to do your homework.

Marginal political figure? What?

What qualities of Plain should we admire? Is it her grace? Sharp wit? Maybe it’s her humble nature? How about her brilliant mind? Please. She brings nothing to the table except for some folksy, heartland talkin’, god-fearin’, gun-lovin’ charm which is exactly the kind of crap Bush Jr. was peddling years ago.
But hey, keep thinking she’s hated because she’s a female conservative. That way you won’t have to take a serious look at her character and come to the same conclusion as the rest of us.

And how did that work out for us? The fact that George W. was re-elected is all you need to know about how dumb the voting public can be and how easy it is to hoodwink them. For a second example observe Brettmcd’s GOP take 10 point lead post. As others have noted if the country is ready to go back to the exact same policies that got us in to the recession in the first place, large parts of the public are either not paying attention, lack basic analytical skills, or perhaps their memory is failing.
I’m nervous that perhaps 50% of the public really is foolish enough for us to end up with a President Palin.

I’m really not worried about that. Honestly, I’m hoping she is their nominee in 2012. Bush, for all his many, many faults knew how to play to the middle (especially in his first campaign). Palin can’t do that anymore, she’s established herself as waaaaay to the right and her ratings among independents are not good. Plus, she’s stupid and is surrounded by stupid people. She’s the Paris Hilton of politics.

You’re probably right. But I could see a situation where Obama’s numbers go down the tubes and the middle decides to go with the alternative … even if the alternative is Palin.
I’m hoping if nothing else her quitting the Alaska governorship should cause even more people to question her ability to handle the job. I do find it hard to believe that she could even be considered as a potential candidate given that she didn’t bother finishing her term as governor.

Fear her? I keep hoping she’ll run for president and win the nomination. She’ll be an utter catastrophe! Obliteration of the reactionary right is exactly what I want.
I mean, if I thought she was electable I’d weep for the country that there are that many morons. Now, I do admit morons voted for Dubya because they figured he was one of them (and I won’t argue their wisdom on that). But at least he could serve out a term as Governor of a non-backwater state.
And what’s this standard issue ego-defense mechanism of “she dares to be both female and conservative”? Conservatives have been having a titanic hissy-fit about Hillary Clinton for a lot longer time (and far more vociferously) because she dares to be female and liberal.
