People on the left are apparently breaking the knives out for the VF author. It’s pretty fascinating to me how this work out. Someone writes something about Palin. Folks lap it up. Then there’s pushback and Palin gets to do her martyr routine. She’s nuts but she’s been blessed by having crazier enemies (ie the Andrew Sullivan she’s not Trig’s mother stuff). I just wish she would go away and make money quietly on the speech circuit.

That was implied in my complaint. In other words, if she is supposed to be elected because she is a part of ‘Real America’ and she can’t even give a bell boy a dollar while having millions herself, then that’s a problem.

I think if you’re going to run for President in the US then you need to be able to connect with the people. This is not a medieval monarchy where the monarch wasn’t even supposed to look at the people doing the base work, this is 2010. Not tipping by any candidate shows a core disrespect of workers who depend on tips for a living.

Keep in mind I’m talking about people running for President. I’m not saying that everyone who has any money should tip, and I’m not even saying that everyone who has 13+M should tip. That’s a different discussion.
