I don’t know, deplorable as it is, it seems like the kind of irrelevant thing that’s often brought up in politics. I don’t care one way or another if Willow Palin is an idiot. More significant is that Sarah Palin says incredibly stupid things regularly via this sort of media.

I am about as anti-Palin as they come and I find such usage and slurs reprehensible, but I’m just glad facebook, twitter, et al wasn’t around when I was a teen because I undoubtedly said and did stupid things I wouldn’t want immortalized on the internet. I do that enough as an adult - my teen self would be thoroughly embarrassing.

It is obviously irrelevant. It is also amusing. I find it an especially entertaining way of confirming my left-wing intellectual urban bias(s).

Boorish and monovalent are the default state for teenagers. That Palin’s supposed Alaska uber-alles, “family values” rearage (not talkin’ bout the butt here) has produced particularly boorish and pregnant teenagers becomes important only insofar as she regularly wields them as political (and now Reality TV) props.

It is also, to me, maybe some insight into how Palin herself would behave absent pr and political considerations*. Her reputation for being small minded and vindictive is legendary.

*EDIT: Not to imply she would spam “faggot” as hard as Will-Will does, just that she has a predilection for Real Housewives of New Jersey style petty meanness.
