Many of her candidates in November won so I don’t know that her endorsement is the kiss of death. I certainly hope so though.

I guess you haven’t looked at Wisconsin lately.
How does that work, exactly? I could see Secularists and Atheists in league with each other, but wouldn’t the Radical Islamists have some pretty serious theological differences with those guys?

I think I saw this at TPM, but the theory is:
- Everyone goes secular/athiest instead of Christian. Like Old Yurpe!
- Then the immigrant Muslims come in and convert everyone, because the secular athiests are easily tricked I guess.
They actually think this is what’s happening in Europe.
I think the theory in Old Yurpe is the secular/atheist European elite are too busy having gay sex and aborting their babies to raise offspring, and they’re all pansies, so even though they’re “in charge”, they’ll do whatever the rapidly growing hordes of bearded guys with multiple secret wives and dozens of children on the dole want so they don’t get blown up.
She’s unbelievable. She insists she was correct in her comments about Paul Revere:
“You realise that you messed up about Paul Revere, don’t you?” “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace asked the potential 2012 presidential candidate.
“I didn’t mess up about Paul Revere,” replied Mrs Palin, a paid contributor to the Fox network.
“Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there. That, hey, you’re not going to succeed. You’re not going to take American arms. You are not going to beat our own well-armed persons, individual, private militia that we have,” she added. “He did warn the British.”
Her fans are in a war with Wikipedia now as they try to edit the page about Paul Revere to reflect her comments.

“And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed- if all records told the same tale - then the lie passed into history and became truth.”

We’re closer to Idiocracy than we are to Orwell with this one.
How the Hell do people defend her on this? There is a wealth of historical documentation that shows she is wrong. WTF?
…her fans are doing in earnest, exactly the same thing Colbert’s fans do as a joke…
Does that make Colbert the Paul Revere of the Wikipedia Wars?

It’s obvious that she was ‘on message’ and knocked off track by a ‘lamestream media reporter’ who had the temerity to ask her a question when she wasn’t ready. Palin is an incredibly scripted shell and when she is knocked off her script word salad based off random fragments of her ‘on message’ programming results. The Revere comments were a classic example of this.
I think her message itself was more offensive and stupid than her word salad - she is trying to reconstruct the Revolutionary War as some kind of justification for the Second Amendment right to bear arms. Which is exactly as mindnumbingly stupid as saying that the Korean War was fought over abortion rights. It’s just such a nonsequitor it defies imagining, and is a perfect example of having no concept of history beyond the prism of our own parochial culture wars.

Because her twisted fucked up logic actually appeals to these people. She attempted to use Revere as a symbol for “hey don’t mess with America” because that is how she interpreted the history. I don’t know what her parents taught her growing up but I’m pretty sure she had to regularly succumb to patriotic horse shit which included an unhealthy spattering of completely biased history lessons.
By the way, I don’t know what school texts are like now, but Paul Revere as a childhood story had him ringing bells and yelling about the British at the top of his lungs.
