Maybe she was trying to teach them it doesn’t work.

So is Rush Limbaugh going to slut-shame Bristol now? He was really into bashing the young woman who wanted her insurance to cover her birth control pills.

One must wonder whether this is related to her fiance abruptly calling off their wedding a little while back.

Well, I guess “must” might be a little strong. “Could” is probably more appropriate. “Probably shouldn’t bother” might work as well.

Ah, train wrecks, why do we love you so?

sigh let’s try to keep the schadenfreude in check? Perhaps it was the fact I grew up in much the same type of hyper conservative christian environment, but I find this just incredibly sad. I may loathe what Palin represented as a politician, but sadly this result is entirely predictable. I have a feeling that some hard lessons are ahead for Bristol Palin, but let’s not heap the sins of the mother on her too.

Perhaps the toppling of two of the bastions of the hyperconservative christian culture will pave the way for an exit strategy from them dominating the right of the political spectrum.

Hum. I applaud the “let he who is without sin…” sentiment here, but there is more to the story.

Bristol Palin WAS an innocent victim of her mother’s fame and beliefs, a few years back. She was thrust into the limelight as a ‘tragic’ example of a good girl who just didn’t quite try hard enough, and oh, look at all of us good Christians loving the sinner even as we decry the sin! And that was sad; I really felt for her. She got lucky in that she was GOP royalty and so the Right-Wing Hate Engine coddled her instead of shaming her and the Left-Wing Hate Engine only threw a handful of jabs her way, but it was a shitty place to be for a new teen mother.

But this time it is a little different. She - more than any of her clan besides her mother - grabbed the media bull by the horns and enriched herself. That’s all good: cheesy reality shows and Dancing w/the Stars and probably clothing lines for all I know. Except one thing: she makes a HUGE amount of money shilling for “abstinence only” organizations: In 2009 alone she took in a quarter million. So here she is, lecturing kids on staying chaste, something she herself was unable to do at their age (which is fine, using yourself as an object lesson is cool), but then ALSO doing exactly what she was lecturing against while she was lecturing against it.

Americans hate hypocrisy. If you’re raking in millions in speaking fees as the Avatar of Abstinence and you’re not walking the walk… eh, I think you might deserve some of the shit that’s coming your way.

But you know, Americans also love second chances. If she comes out of this and becomes a spokesperson for easy access to birth control for US teens, I’ll applaud her.

That’s fair. And I wasn’t really addressing anyone here in specific. More venting general about how mush joy some people take in tearing down others. Even when the person, as in this case, is a rank hypocrite I find that kind of thing unbecoming.

It is also partly because my background comes from a very similar environment, and though I have since rejected that ideology I am on guard against overreacting the other way and taking joy in seeking to destroy others.

Yes, the problem with Bristol Palin is she has been quick on the trigger to castigate others without any regard for their feelings. It may be bad form to take some pleasure in hypocrisy exposed, but it’s not as if something horrible has happened to her – she’s having a baby!

What may really be bothering her beyond the momentary humiliation is the knowledge that she’s kicked herself off the gravy train.

I’d like to predict that after a term of Hillary as President, you will get a ‘reformed’ (Born Again (again?), non-drinking etc) Sarah Palin in the run up to a world war three she kickstarts ;)

Judge Palin - Not like “Let’s all judge Sarah Palin,” but like “Sarah Palin is going to be a judge on TV.”

The onetime vice presidential candidate has been tapped to preside over a planned reality court show that would premiere next year, if it gets picked up by stations. She signed a deal in February with Montana-based production company Warm Springs, a source close to the process tells PEOPLE.

Unlike the two famous TV judges, Palin does not have a juris doctor degree. But the source notes that the bestselling author has a variety of other qualities that make her perfectly suited to the job.

“Palin’s telegenic personality, wide appeal and common sense wisdom make her a natural for this kind of format and she was Warm Springs’ top pick for this project.”

twitch

America, you just got dumber.

Oh man, it’s so gonna be like this:

Common sense wisdom are among the last words I’d use to describe that woman.

Brilliant Theater, but I’d never, ever want to step foot in that courtroom.

Coming soon to Fox News (or an affiliate) near you!

Next stop…the SCOTUS as Trump’s first selection.

@LOLGOP
I think we should wait for the next president before we decide if Palin gets this TV judge gig.

The only JD’s she has are her children ;)

I’ll watch one episode. Just to decide if it’s a trainwreck or an entertaining trainwreck.
