27 percent is always a very good rule of thumb for questions like this about any group at all.

27% is a pretty good number. Regardless of how bad W has screwed up he’s never dipped much below that line. My guess is that if you had a Democratic President who was as gawdawful as W has been, he’d still have a core of diehards of about 27% that would approve his performance.

I’d give the Daily Show clip a watch. It’s funny, and all Jon Stewart is doing is juxtaposing pundits statements to point out the hypocrisy that we let certain people get away with.

It’s not a screed or an opinion piece like you’d find on Dkos or Andrew Sullivan.
Also the Gingrich interview was interesting. I like his interviews with right wingers because he is simultaneously respectful, humorous and analytical.

What ever happened to that Fox News satire show by the way?

I doubt you’ve been a “regular lurker”, but I’m sure you’ve enjoyed following some links over there from time to time.

The writers all quit to join John McCain’s vetting team.

Just discovered since the Palin pick. I think someone here may have alerted me to it actually, but I’ve been checking it out semi-regularly since.

Hey, a lying troll! Look at that, Wilbur!

So, Fooey, instead of bothering to write actual words, why don’t you just post links directly to the GOP talking points? Seems like it would save all of us a lot of time.

You’ve been regularly lurking there for… six days.

You’ve been a regular lurker for a total of six days.

So is having your sense of humour surgically removed a pre-requisite for becoming a blinkered Republican?

You’re gonna have to explain the content of that one. Fooey doesn’t click on links that might blow his mind.

I just stay out of the fever swamps (on the left and the right). McCain people are saying that the guy running the teleprompter wasn’t stopping properly for applause breaks. So Giuliani and Palin after delivering lines that caused lengthy applause kept trying to resume after pausing to find themselves looking at a teleprompter that had already scrolled several sentences into the next paragraph. Which is consistent with what the Politico guy wrote.

So, you’re saying that GOP politicians practice their speeches in advance and are not totally dependent on reading from a teleprompter?

Man, almost as many people watched Palin speak than Obama speak.

I thought your guy was a rock star. Palin has been around for, what, a week and draws those numbers?

Yikes, bad news for you guys.

Lets see how McCain does tonight.

Whoa. Can we retitle this thread “Pile on Fooey” or “Fooey to Fooey” or something? Or can we just quit it with the Fooey hating and get back to the Palin discussion, such as it is? I’M FUCKING BORED OVER HERE.

Yes, we’re all frowns over here. Seen a poll lately?

Yes. It’s the anti-Fooey squad that keep changing the subject away from Palin to discuss Obama’s inexperience. We’re such a-holes.

Sounds like she’s lost all credibility, then, if she’s become a vapid celebrity too.
