I dunno, I think the issue came out today but I don’t make a habit of picking up the National Enquirer.

Not helpful.
Attack her for being disingenuous on the bridge to nowhere, investigate if she really left her town in debt, find an elegant way to showcase her opposition to sex education and whatnot. But attack her personal life and she gets yet another chance to show how much she has in common with the average American. In a weird twist, the teen pregnancy and an affair help to dilute the idea that her social conservative beliefs are outside the mainstream.
Exactly. The evangelicals are in love with her. They’ll forgive her every character flaw at the bat of an eye. The entire blow up about the pregnant kid has already made her sympathetic to others. You have to bring her record to the fore. It’s one thing if she had an affair; it’s another if she talks about raising children for special needs being important, but then show that she actually cut that part of the Alaskan budget by a significant percent. Or that she said she was opposed to the Bridge to Nowhere, but she actually supported it, then Congress killed the funding for it, and then she said she was against it.
Did you read earlier in the thread about how Palin wants Creationism taught in science classes? She wants to raise a generation of idiots.

Actually my family lives in AK so I’ve been wincing about her policies for over a year already. The Discovery Institute loves her to death. :-(

It’ll probably be in the upcoming issue.
The National Enquirer wrote in its edition dated Sept. 15 that Palin had an affair with a business associate of her husband, Todd Palin. He discovered the infidelity and dissolved the business, the article said. It attributed the allegation only to “an enemy” of the Alaska governor.
“The smearing of the Palin family must end,” Schmidt said in a statement released Wednesday. "The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Gov. Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false.

Also, before anyone gets overly worked up about this and draws comparisons to the John Edwards thing.
The John Edwards thing got some meat on it when reporters WORKING for the NE witnessed, directly, Edwards’ late night exit from that hotel.
The NE reporting that an enemy of Palin said this about her is quite a different thing, at least in my book… Furthermore, I’d be curious to see the exact phrasing the NE uses.

I don’t know if there’s anything to the rumor, but we’ll find out soon enough. The courts have denied a request to seal the divorce records of Scott Richter, the other man in question.
They sure didn’t look like that from May 2007…
Yeah, I’m equally skeptical. Just because the National Enquirer was accidentally right once, that doesn’t suddenly make them a reliable source.
Fooey was sure convinced they were.
I’m sure he’ll jump in here to defend them again any moment now.
Age is a very cruel mistress.
(Not to mention blow.)
