I heard on the news last night that Gov. Palin won’t be on the campaign trail with Sen. McCain but instead will be back in Alaska to see her son ship off to Iraq (on September 11th no less). During her flight back to and stay in Alaska, it was reported she’ll be taking a crash course on domestic, foreign, and economic issues.

I think that’d be good, except she’s getting the Republican dogma line on those, rather than reality.
Ready on day one! Or day whatever!
Must be all that experience she has…
I don’t understand why she needs any help on foreign issues, what with Alaska being so close to Russia.

When she gets into office she can just send a letter to all the foreign leaders requesting their resignation as an act of loyalty. Any that refuse, we invade.

I’m convinced that rumors of an affair are real and have circulated in Wasilla given the Enquirers’ reporting. They haven’t nailed the story down to the extent that I’m convinced there was an actual affair yet (which they clearly had in my view before you heard me talking about the Edwards story here), but it’s certainly possible. FYI, Byron York at National Review got an advance copy of the actual article and this is the full section on the alleged affair:
"Another incredible allegation emerging from the family war is that Palin, a mother of five, had an affair with a former business associate of her fisherman husband, Todd.
"‘Todd discovered the affair and quickly dissolved his friendship and his business associations with the guy,’ charges an enemy. “Many people in Alaska are talking about the rumor and say Todd swept it under the rug.”’

That’s all they’re going to be printing vis-a-vis the affair, so make your own judgments. Note though that they do attribute the story to an “enemy.”
Good one! They both have brown hair and glasses!

Aand, they both have husbands in the fuel industry, they’re both social conservatives, and they’re both unqualified to be President.

And they both lack depth!

Boning up for the debates? Palin vs. Biden should be incredible.
Dan Quayle taught this party nothing.
Oh yeah?! Well, take this:

Palin will not necessarily be awful in the debates and Biden is not a slam dunk. Don’t get overconfident, if Palin has decent training in anything it’s public speaking. Also you could argue Quayle taught the Republicans they can win even with a total embarrassment in the veep slot.
Biden should do okay as long as the topic doesn’t veer into the hiring practices of 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts.

Oh, she can speak, no doubt, but in order to debate, you have to know your shit, and I am not convinced she does. Compound that with Biden’s experience and you’ve got a formidable opponent for someone who is essentially a rookie from the farm team.
Also you could argue Quayle taught the Republicans they can win even with a total embarrassment in the veep slot.
Not for a second term.
Plus, I don’t think anyone during Bush Sr really had too much anxiety that Bush was going to die in office. McCain’s health means that the public has to be a lot more comfortable with the idea of President Palin than they ever had to be with President Quayle.
No, actually it’s pretty funny! Check it out.

What part of “close to Russia” do you not understand?
