I’m cry-laughing at people that thought either testimony today was going to move the needle for the GOP not ramming this guy into the Court.
So I get that people are expecting him to still be confirmed, but is this viewpoint informed by the general state of politics or is there some insider info/leak saying it’s happening?
Having a vote tomorrow won’t be easy in this case.
EDIT: Committee vote likely to happen tomorrow, or though it will be interesting to see how Flake votes.
Well I dissaprove of camps, but if you had… I daresay the camps would be nicer than the ones Republicans continue to lock up innocent children in.

I’m going to be the optimist and say he does not get confirmed. Senate Republicans are mostly shameless shitbags but some of them are just shitbags and those ones may not feel good about confirming him after this. Maybe I’m wrong.

I have no doubt that most of the GOP senators feel he likely was at least partially involved with Ford’s allegations. They could have saved face and walked away 2 weeks ago, but they didn’t, so now it’s entirely political calculus. Kavanaugh simply is not a good SCOTUS candidate, period. Even without all of the allegations against him, his behavior in the meeting today was completely reprehensible. The senators ALL know that. Every last one of them. They’re continuing to push now because, politically, they must.

Also, your daily reminder the GWB is not a good guy:

That’s not even the worst of what he said.
“#ChristineBlaseyFord academic problems came from her PROMISCUITY!” he wrote on Twitter during Ford’s Senate testimony. “Dang girl, stop opening your legs and OPEN A BOOK!”
On Thursday morning, he tweeted, “TO HELL with the notion that women must be believed no matter what. Lying skanks is what these 3 women are, and we ALL know more.”
Jackson also said on Twitter that Ford “looks rode hard and put up wet, as we say in the country.”
(Joe Fain is the Republican majority leader in the Washington state senate.)
Getting their stories straight, I assume.
Why would you lie about how much coal you have
Why would you lie about something dumb like that?

It seems like the truth isn’t that important to this guy, which is… Problematic… For a judge.

What a stupid thing to lie about. Why?

This stuff sucks.
I mean, not that these women aren’t brave and shouldn’t be heard. But we don’t live in a social media democracy, and scoring points in social media isn’t going to stop anybody who doesn’t care.
Just don’t get your hopes up guys. We live in Westeros, and winter is coming, and the good guys don’t win because they’re good.
