Bingo.

Yeah I had my “When the Germans bombed pear harbor” moment there :) Sorry. I edited it to make myself look marginally less foolish.

Hand the investigation off to the NY FBI branch, so they’ll keep Guilliani up to speed and bury anything relevant. Problem solved.

(Whispers: “You didn’t look foolish. Your context was clear and I think we’re all tired of hearing about blatantly partisan political judicial appointments ‘ripping up’ the country.”)

Thanks!

I’m glad a number of you are responding and posting and paying attention so I don’t have to. I don’t think my blood pressure can take watching this today. Thank you all for that work.

Was actually going to ask about that - can Trump and/or Congress direct it to that degree? Seems like the logical corrupt approach.

I’m sure Director Wray could if he desired.

Given Manchin’s political situation he deserves a lot of latitude for his votes, but I really can’t conceive of a more consequential vote than one that would put a Hannity clone on the Supreme Court for life. I get that a majority gets Democrats committee chairs, subpoena power and actual oversight, but damn that’s a high price to pay.

What do you think the FBI can accomplish in a one-week investigation? They’ll interview a few people and conclude that no definitive proof exists that anything happened.

wtf does that mean? They don’t publicize the results?

That things he said are not directly attributed to him, was my assumption.

Probably nothing. But in one week, a lot can happen. More women could come forward, polling as Silver observed could sway votes. Why does everyone always have to be an edge lord? The alternative is that BK gets confirmed tomorrow. Yes, it’s not much, but it’s better than absolutely nothing.

I think the only person that would care is going to know it was him that said it.

Another thing I want to get off my chest, I find the spectacle of the majority of Americans watching to see the fate of their rights being determined by courtiers schemes and a mad kings whims to be highly offensive.

Voters should not feel powerless about such matters. But they do. It feels like an inverse of everything the United States stood for.

Yeah, I guess, but the internet, social media, and 24-hour-news means we get to watch it as it happens, rather than just get told about it at 6pm after it’s all said and done.

yup :(
