If those texts do match up, and if they can be positively linked to this story, it would mean he lied under oath.
The contents of those texts and testimony of those who received them will be crucial.

I don’t understand why we’re talking about if he lied under oath. He absolutely did, and they don’t care. Why would they care about this? It’s just another lie, not the only one.
I can see a pretty clear distinction between lying about yearbook quotes vs. lying about an accuser who had yet to come forward.
Yeah, records of texts and such from before he claims to have heard about the allegation would be proof of “guilty knowledge.”

The disturbing bit is the FBI’s apparent lack of interest in that evidence. As I understand it, the scope of background checks may be strictly limited by the sponsor. This stuff may be off limits to investigators.
But he busted his butt to get into Yale Law School!
