He didn’t send those texts. His cat did when he left his phone unlocked during a weekend bender.

Quick let’s ask this guy if he respects women, maybe he can claim he does while acting completely opposite of that claim like his good old friend Kav did.
They’ve got a week to cover a lot of ground. Just because they hadn’t gotten back to everyone right away doesn’t necessarily mean they’re ignoring the evidence. They mayy just have a ton to comb through.

Alright, so now I think there’s something else going on here… Are the Russians telling Graham to get it done with Kavanaugh or something? Why would he fall on his sword over this? It seems so silly when they can get somebody else with equally conservative views who isn’t a belligerent drunk and accused of sexual assault.

Who the hell is David Limbaugh, and isn’t one Limbaugh more than enough for this cursed world?

At this point, the truth is literally meaningless to the GOP and their supporters. They simply do not care about the truth. If they don’t like reality, they just deny it. It doesn’t matter.
That’s why this is going to be fucked up.
They are going to prove that BK lied, and the GOP folks are just going to pretend he didn’t. When faced with the choice of admitting error or lying, Trump has illustrated that lying is ALWAYS better with the GOP base.

I have three theories on Linsey Graham’s sudden change of personality:
- He really, really wants to be AG or SoS, and Trump has promised it if he proves his loyalty
- Graham is a natural sidekick, and he needs a new alpha now that McCain is gone
- The Russians have his browser history
But it’s really a waste of time discerning the exact reason why any particular republican becomes an all-in Trumpling. Most of them have joined the cult, eaten the human flesh and know there’s no way back now.
“You would be legitimizing the destruction of a horrible person, uh, I mean…” No, Lindsey, you had it right the first time.

Isn’t it clear that him supporting his drinking supports Ford’s claims? So he (imo) calculated that allowing that denial of everything was the best defense.
For a while I subscribed to the blackmail theory … but I now realize it has to be reason #2.
If Graham was only going along with Trump reluctantly, the idea he was being blackmailed might make sense. But since McCain died Lindsay has gone all in, emulating Trump with enthusiasm and energy that can’t be faked.
It turns out Graham is a natural born toady, pure and simple. He can’t help it. He simply can’t help licking the boots of whoever seems to be in charge. If the dominant GOP authority figure wants to be seen as a statesman, as McCain did, then Graham will dutifully copy those moves. And if the dominant authority figure is a rage-fueled asshole instead - well, Lindsay will eagerly scream and shout and piss over facts and reason just like The Big Man does.
This doesn’t make him unusual. Indeed, it makes him an absolutely typical modern Republican.

Nah, Graham is turbo gay.
Don’t forget, “Don’t hate the player. Hate the game!”
It is about that. It is also about the fact that if they continue this trend and pull it off, they will have unbelievable power for decades.
My search skills are letting me down but someone posted a link in this thread to someone who used to run in Kavanaugh’s circles saying that he was part of an elite group of hyper partisan Republicans who were being groomed for roles as the party’s champions. It explains everything about why he is the hill they’re willing to die on. He’s not just a conservative judge, he is there man through and through and they are dying to get him on the court, so much so that they’ve become blind to the costs.

This article from David Brock?
That’s the one – Thanks. It also explains why Bush is willing to go to the carpet for him. He’s not a conservative judge – He’s a Republican operative. They desperately want him where he can help them the most every time it matters.
Yes, exactly this. It is a bit of an open secret, but he tries like hell to hide it
And that is why, once he is on the SCOTUS with also hyper-partisan Gorsuch, the SCOTUS will have lost its last shred of independence. I mean, it has been trending that way for 20 years. And because that is the case, it will be up to the Dems to pack the court to provide some semblance of partisan balance, and also make the case to the American people that we need a Constitutional amendment that term-limits the justices. At least that is my opinion.
