Insert GIF of Jerry Seinfeld getting up from his theater seat.
Yup, a whitewash as we suspected it would be.
Welp, I guess weâre getting 11 Justices next time Dems get all three branches.
Democrats:
We want an impartial but thorough re-opening of the background investigation:
Republicans and pundits:
Democrats smearing Judge Kavenaugh.
Judge Kavenaugh:
Partisan screed, refuses to truthfully answer question on drinking and prior behavior:
Republicans and pundits:
Democrats are moving the goal posts!
Sham investigation completed:
Pundits:
Democrats overplayed their hand and now the Right is united.
Funny how this works.

Truthfully, I donât think anyone here is surprised at all that this was just a sham to provide cover for the Furrowed Brow Brigade of Collins, Murkowski, etc. Still makes me sick.

Not cover IMO. Instead, it was a strategic delay to allow some poll numbers to come in. Flake et al. were testing the wind IMO. Unfortunately with our screwed up electorate, the poll numbers showed increased Republican intensity, sufficient to convince Flake and the others that voting No on Kavanaugh would pretty much ruin them in the GOP. Even with Flake retiring, he wants those cushy media or lobbyist jobs and he doesnât make himself politically radioactive.
In hindsight, once those polls rolled in a day or two ago showing the trends, I should have expected this result.
Republican House and Senate candidates from 2000 (who got backlash on the Clinton impeachment) say: âYep, becareful what you wish for.â
How is this remotely the same?
âWe should have a thorough and impartial investigationâ <> impeachment.

The GOP railroading something through that is improper is core to both of them.
Win at all costs, regardless of the facts or importance.

After experiencing BK in the hearing, it should be clear that he is not suitable for the job, really , the rep senators do not have any honor left (it looks), I wonder if the dems would have acted differently, one would hope they would.
So let me guess: they did an investigation, which will not be made public, which will allow senators the cover to say âThe investigation answered all my questionsâ, with none of their constituents ever being able to see the contents of the report.
Is that about the gist of it?

To be fair, the content contained in this kind of report is generally never made public.
Oh, I know.
But it could be a scathing report and there is no downside to them voting for him since the report will never be made public.
Just the opposite, it proved he was just who they wanted.

Classic move by our senator. Collinsâ feigns indecision to maximize media coverage but almost always comes down on Trumpâs side. And yet she gets away with portraying herself as a moderate and a majority of Maineâs electorate buys it.
Heitkampâwho is probably dead in the water in NDâis a NO on Kavanaugh.
Democrats get to see the report as well, correct? Have they seen it yet and is anyone on the Democratic side talking about what it does and does not say or is this still rumor and conjecture at this point?
