The problem is, the two parties do not play by the same rules.
When Democrats do the right thing, they are portrayed by the media as being hyper partisan and going too far. I donāt know what the answer is here; I think they failed in their questioning BK during the hearing (was that only last week?) when they kept going after the drinking angle, they probably would have been better served to openly question his temperament after his partisan screed. I donāt know.
The best approach if Democrats regain control is to just impeach him and the other Trump one when Trump himself gets impeached. Its probably easier.
Supreme court justices are not actually for life they can be removed for bad behaviour by Congress anytime. So dump him then.
You said the Democrats canāt do anything because they are the minority party. I offered an example of something they CAN do. I didnāt say it would work.

Congress does not prosecute people for perjury.
Incidentally, look what our favorite Democrat went and did :
I wonder if it will work.
Narrator: It wonāt
Wonāt work, they need 67 votes to convict.
So there is no way for the minority party to do anything at all in our government? I recall the GOP making a whole lot of problems for Dems when they were the minority. Not clear to me why the Dems are unable to do the same, but I guess thatās just because they have no power, and not because they think ādonāt rock the boat, voters will reward us for being treated so unfairlyā
This might be true. I bet thereās nothing truly damning in there, but leaked documents with some unpulled threads could have an effect in late Oct.
And then we got rid of filibusters on judicial appointments.

Yes, the GOP tied up a lot of legislation. Though not all of it.
And how much legislation has the GOP Congress passed?
And McConnell is ignoring blue slips. Etc. Etc.
Also, earmarks are no longer a thing.
Back to the 1950ās we go⦠if weāre lucky. Seems like a good chance weāre headed for more like 1940ā¦
But they maintained the blue slip norm.
Which Republicans promptly trashed.

The GOP has changed the rules. Again. Now itās majority rule all the time, and do whatever it takes to keep that majority, be it illegal, immoral, or whatever. Oh, and then have the propoganda outlets lie and say itās all the Dems fault.
The only option is to vote them out againt heavy gerrymandering. Assuming the voting is still legit.
Yes. And that is now spilled milk on the floor.
The point of what Democrats could do to block this being āNothingā remains.
I recall a pretty big tax cut making its way throughā¦
Hey, I know, maybe we can hold the full faith and credit of the US hostage!
Letās put it this way - if there isnāt anything they can do with 49 votes, then physical violence becomes the only option.
I mean, Iām not even talking about doing legislative stuff necessarily. Iām talking about airing everyone dirty laundry. Iām talking about creating your own extreme interpretations of events and then pushing them from the mouths of senior leaders and trustworthy operatives like Whelan, instead of crackpots like Avenatti.

Thatās right. Just one. Passed via reconciliation over a hostile minority. Do you remember any other legislation pAssed this way by the demoCrats some time Ago?
I know, just another example of the parties not playing by the same rules. Iām not trying to be hostile here, but I donāt know why you and magnet act like you are the keepers of some profound truth.
Seems to me, and maybe Iām wrong, but it seems to me the Republican narrative always becomes the one everyone hears. I donāt know if thatās because Democrats are ineffectual, or a corporate media and male-dominated beltway punditry make it that way. Seems itās always been that way for as long as I can remember.

My bad, i thought they did. Looks like the DOJ is who decides whether to bring charges in this case.
Which, again, shows that the Democrats have no say in this.
