That was in The Before Time. The world has moved on.
From your keystrokes to God’s monitor…
I can’t conceive of a world where Trump, McConnell and the Federalist Society get yet another SCOTUS pick.
I can. It’s a world where we have 13 Justices next year.

McConnell ramming someone through this year would put me firmly in “pack the court” mode for 2021.

Can we put this woman in a bubble for the next 6 months?

I thought we already had! Who is in charge of these things!? I want to speak to the bubble manager!
It’s one where the Dems would have to court stack to counter.
Also reassign all of Trump’s judges to the 13th district court, which would be Wyoming.
RBG discharged from hospital, is home, and doing well per statement from the Supreme Court.

Good news. I hate how crass this sentiment is, but just hold on for another few months, RBG. I mean, her life is a lot more than just a Supreme Court seat and all but… dire times.

Every time there’s a new post in this thread my head prepares my heart.
True enough, but Ginsburg knew the stakes when she elected not to retire in Obama’s first term.
Or she knew the seat would not be filled.
I saw reports last night that Vance had asked the Supreme Court to do something to help expedite execution of the Trump subpoena (expedited order?) but I never saw anything that really explained what it was. Did anyone else see that, and can you explain what Vance asked the Court to do?
Edit: Ah, here it is. Looks like Vance is trying to prevent a normal 25-day delay between when the Court renders its opinion and when the resulting decision and orders are actually filed.
“Obama’s first term”
Why would the seat not be filled in Obama’s first term if he was nominating Justices Sotomayor and Kagan successfully to fill seats on the bench already?
Here’s a thread rollup of someone live blogging the Trump v Vance conference call today. Sounds like Trump’s lawyer was not particularly well prepared and what he did say implies that they intend to misread the SCOTUS decision and continue to call for special treatment because Trump is the President.
I find that hard to believe.
It’s not my judgement:
Unbelievable. Trump’s lawyer said “The president is still reviewing the subpoena and has not decided which arguments he’ll raise upon remand.”
LOL. He’s just stalling. The president should have sent his lawyers in prepared.
We are getting to Trump’s lawyer responding to the Article II issues.
Trump lawyer said it would be “The physical burdens and the distractions” instead of “stigma.”
But again said president hasn’t decided. FFS
This is embarrassing. This lawyer is unprepared. Shameful.

I find it hard to believe that @Woolen_Horde actually found that hard to believe.
I am going to guess that perhaps Woolen_Horde would’ve used blue font to type “I find that hard to believe” if it were a forum option.
