Best case scenario I can think of at this point is that someone more like Gorsuch is appointed instead of someone like Alito or Thomas.

That sounded like a good number. $250 each to Gideon, Harrison, Bullock and Ossof. I can’t do much in red TX in a non-competitive house district, but maybe my wallet helps a little somewhere else. If nothing else, its quite a bit lighter now!

Iowa is also pretty close.
McConnell: Trump’s nominee will get a vote on the senate floor.

They could really freak everyone out by nominating Garland

Court-packing it is, then. We cannot let Trump have three picks, one of which was stolen.

I heard a bit of good news on CNN, if Mark Kelly wins in Arizona, it is special election so he MAY take over McSally’s seat right after the election, so Mark plus Susan and Lisa, Dems only need one more vote .
It’s possible, but would likely end up a court fight.
But I would imagine McConnell will get this to a senate vote before November.

If I was Schumer I’d offer Mtich a deal and threat. The deal would be if he agrees to not vote on Scotus this year, that Schumer keeps the filibuster rule unchanged in the next senate session. Otherwise not only is the filibuster toast, be he can kiss goodbye tax breaks for Kentucky, coal mining, tobacco farms, bourbon, horse breeding, declare My old Kentucky home a racist song, and make sure Republican Senate office are in the nastiest part of Washington DC.

Where is Romney on that list?
Grassley’s “pledge”, like those of Lindsey Graham and others, is from 2018 (Grassley) or 2016 (Graham).
I’m going to guess that both have changed their tunes suddenly.

We’re sooooo fucked. The Right is going to bend the country over for the next 30 years with one SCOTUS decision after another.
Mitch has already cast the lot. It’s happening.

Should Biden plan to do that? I think he should. Should he announce that he will? I don’t think so. I don’t know any voters he gains and there are probably a few out there he loses. Plus whats to stop Trump and Turtle from striking first if they know that’s what he plans anyway?
Yep. This is what vulnerable Republican senators are looking at, squarely in the eye.
