NPR has had a new host on All Things Considered named Elsa Chang for the past few months. Iā€™ve wondered if she was human or a bot posing as human several times, with her forced upbeatness and mannerisms in interviews that seem so robot and forced.

My theory was that she was human, just new to the job and was probably nervous and would just grow into it.

ACBā€™s confirmation hearing is the first time Iā€™ve had evidence that Iā€™m correct, and that Elsa Chang is in fact human. She was just positively gushing about Amy Coney Barret yesterday during the dinner pause in the hearing, excited to see someone on the bench who is a mother of 7 and also an overachiever and a professional woman who is also managing to take care of so many kids.

Anyway, her enthusiasm was infectious. It might lead to the downfall of this country in the long run, who knows, but for now, Iā€™m excited for Elsa Chang and for ACB.
