BK is an originalist, and like all conservatives reveres the Constitution. Obviously, the founders intent is that we need to stop counting votes on election day so that the media can project the winner.

Neither Kavanuagh nor Coney Barrett are qualified to be Judges, let alone Supreme Court Judges.

Which is bad enough, but the problem is that both are so obviously unqualified. On the plus side, it may force the Democrats hand - if they have the power to do so and don’t take action, that will cost them a lot of the support they’ve gained.

This is one of those where we’re going to have to inject some courage into the Dems by calling our Congresscritters and telling them if they don’t do this, we’ll vote against them.

Kathy Manning here is definitely getting that call here from me- she needs to feel the heat.

Isn’t she a candidate for the House? The House has nothing to do with Supreme Court appointments.

Court expansion will have to pass in both the House and Senate.

Ah, you’re right. Apologies @Alstein

Oops

I know it’s a low bar to clear, but at least he didn’t send a tweet calling Vermont fake news and refusing to change anything.

Final line of that article quotes his opinion:

States that require mail-in ballots to be returned by Election Day, Kavanaugh wrote, “want to avoid the chaos and suspicions of impropriety that can ensue if thousands of absentee ballots flow in after Election Day and potentially flip the results of an election.”

CNN, a supposed news organization, fails to add the all important caveat: “In 2016 precisely zero states certified their election results on Election Day.”

CNN has stated multple times in other places that no one certifies their election on the day of the election. Pretty sure Cooper said straight up, “That’s not how it works.”

How do you “flip” election results before all the votes are counted?

By subverting the divine right of his orange majesty, king asshole the first.

It would be funny, ironic, and appropriate if removing the mandate killed all the efforts to destroy the ACA.

Holy shit! Thomas asked a question!?

He’s opened his piehole a bit ever since his master Scalia died.

Good news maybe?

I mean without the mandate, the question SCOTUS is asking is: who is harmed by the ACA? You are not forced to enroll. If you want to buy health insurance the old fashioned way, you can just go to any insurer’s website and sign up.

Look like good news. Welcome to the dawn of the age of Brett Kavanaugh: swing justice.

I remember that Roberts was palpably annoyed in his opinion for the second major ACA case that reached him, so I didn’t expect him to switch sides now. But, this seemed like a really weak case, so the fact it looks headed for a 5-4 decision should tell you everything you need to know about the other Trump appointees. (We already knew Alito was a partisan hack and Thomas was, well, Thomas.)
