Oh absolutely. I’d rather see the Dems put up a good fight than not. On the other hand, I think the GOP Senate leadership will do everything possible to ram this through, because like the Honey Badger of that video from a couple of years ago, they don’t give a shit. See what McConnell (curses be upon his name) did with Merrick Garland and then with the Gorsuch vote.
Not to mention, if it looks like Trump is going down, it becomes all the more important for them to salvage something from his presidency, and there’s nothing like a solid conservative Supreme Court justice for that.

Kavanaugh is like a special kind of shady. All the secrecy over his past, his inability to not lie. It’s a clusterfuck on an easy lay-up.

This may be the route. Alternately, they could impeach Kavanaugh. If it’s found that he lied under oath before Congress, that seems like an easier play. It hasn’t happened since 1804, but one guy (Abe Fortas) resigned in 1969 rather than be impeached.

(1) Nesrie for suggesting the GOP doesn’t care about long-term consequences, when it was Harry Reid who nuked the filibuster (which could have easily stopped Kavnanaugh) for appellate judges because Republicans stalled some DC Cir nominees
(2) The idea that packing SCOTUS — ie, totally neutralizing its independence – is either fair or good for democracy as payback because one nominee got no hearings (he would never have been confirmed anyway) is extra amusing.

Anyone else embarrassed for Booker for outing Kavanaugh as …someone who opposes racial profiling? Or the nuts accusing that descendent of Holocaust survivors of being a white supremacist for holding her hands a certain way?

Booker’s grandstanding, to be sure. But I’m happy to see some fight in Senate Democrats, if only as a rehearsal for when/if they ever actually hold some levers of power again.
