Considering the documents themselves are a giant nothing Booker isn’t going to look too good regardless.

It sounds like we’re all in agreement that Booker has huge balls for doing this, otherwise we’d hear differently. The bigliest!

Everyone is liberal to fascists.
Democracy is a fundamentally liberal ideal after all.
Could everyone please stop flagging that guy’s posts? He’s suspended already.

Sorry, did it as I was catching up.
It’s probably going to keep happening as long as they exist though, since that’s how people tend to operate.
It’s basically:
Reading…
Reading…
WTF… Reported
Reading…
WTF Reported
Reading…
Oh they got him, okay
Then you asking not to report
Oops

You can edit posts as an admin right, maybe put the content in a spoiler or something, make it more obvious it’s taken care of. A greyed out name on a grey background, not as obvious.

I assumed it was a new account, which are also usually grey I thought? Or maybe I just see them after they’re dealt with?

We don’t get very many bans around here. I thought the greyed out name meant it was banned. Maybe it’s new too. If it’s not that then there really is no indication it’s down short of clicking on the name and reading the results.

Greyed names are definitely also for new accounts. For example one guy in the book thread recently. After a few days/ posts his name shows normal.

The last thing the left needs is to go all Pizza-gate. That e-mail exchange is clearly about a group of friends arranging a booze-cruise. The apology and reminder of confidentiality are perfectly consistent with that context. You can imagine that something nefarious went on that wasn’t purely personal, but there is zero evidence for it.

I think the larger point was to prove that keeping all these documents either withheld under executive privilege or flagged committee confidential is entirely capricious. There is no valid reason those documents were ever withheld in the first place.
That’s probably too nuanced though for the general public.

I’d have more respect if he lost 200k to bitcoin or some other crazy investment than freaking dice. How can anyone put so much money into something that is by definition -EV!
Did somebody suggest it was more than that? Reference to Asian prostitutes is creepy, but no one I read thinks the author was serious about that. Just a creep.
After the last few days it really looks like Kavanaugh was a bad choice for the Republicans, a case of unnecessary overreach in the same way that Bork was. Everything that has come out in the hearings was basically right there in his record for anyone to see; indeed, much of it was talked about before the hearings. A nominee shouldn’t have to explain that he/she really didn’t mean it when he/she said Nixon might have been wrongly decided. If the nominee is known to have said that, then get another nominee who didn’t say it.
I’d still say the odds are he’ll be confirmed, because Republicans, but it is an ugly process that will galvanize support against him and against Republicans at the polls. The chance he’ll be blocked is very small, but if they’d nominated another evil-but-blandly-so Roberts, there’d be no chance of blocking it at all.
