Screen captures of console games?

How does one go about doing this, other then pausing and taking a pic of your tv with a camera?

There’s been many cool moments in my console gaming history that I would like to preserve, like the time I trapped many of the town residents in Animal Crossing in pitfalls, Jean Grey melee-ing a Sentinel to death, my uber bad guy cutting up townsfolks in Fable…

If you don’t have a video card with inputs then something like this would help

There are two ways:

  1. Pipe the video to a PC video capture card.

  2. Run the game in an emulator. Take a screen capture of the emulator window.

There’s also the good ol’ VCR method . . . that is, if you still own one of those relics. :)
