Secret CIA source claims Russia rigged 2016 election

Reality Winner? Goddamn, talk about born under a bad sign.

She was born Sara Winner. She was just awesome enough to change her name to Reality.

So a self-inflicted wound, just like getting caught.

OMG, Bob Costa reports that in lieu of “war room,” Trump intends to be “his own messenger” and will tweet WHILE Comey testifies. /1

Today’s stupid Trump conspiracy theory.

Trump is actually a puppet of the major shareholders of the Turner Broadcasting System (CNN) and Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter to raise the viewership/users of both struggling media players. CNN viewership has doubled since Trump’s election and Twitter had it is best year ever.

I have zero sympathy for leakers who don’t make a good faith to get the information out via the organization’s whistle blowing process. We have pretty strong whistleblower protections in place which while they may not work in the case of highly classified info certainly speak volumes about a person’s intentions and seriousness. Snowden did the right thing the other didn’t.

I’ve seen this a lot. What does “war room” mean? Surely not what I think it does.

The nation’s top intelligence official told associates in March that President Trump asked him if he could intervene with then-FBI Director James B. Comey to get the bureau to back off its focus on former national security adviser Michael Flynn in its Russia probe, according to officials.

On March 22, less than a week after being confirmed by the Senate, Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats attended a briefing at the White House together with officials from several government agencies. As the briefing was wrapping up, Trump asked everyone to leave the room except for Coats and CIA Director Mike Pompeo.

The president then started complaining about the FBI investigation and Comey’s handling of it, said officials familiar with the account Coats gave to associates. Two days earlier, Comey had confirmed in a congressional hearing that the bureau was probing whether Trump’s campaign coordinated with Russia during the 2016 race.

The events involving Coats show the president went further than just asking intelligence officials to deny publicly the existence of any evidence showing collusion during the 2016 election, as The Washington Post reported in May. The interaction with Coats indicates that Trump aimed to enlist top officials to have Comey curtail the bureau’s probe.

Edit: Coats will testify tomorrow.

I thought we knew this already. Honestly, there have been so many “bombshells” the last few weeks, it’s getting tough to keep them straight.

There’s a huge difference between things we believe we know because apparently reputable sources have told journalists that we trust and things everyone definitely knows because the actual involved people say so under oath in a public hearing.

For example:

Fair enough.

Congress is battening down the hatches in anticipation of Trump going rogue:

Wow. This seems quite major.

Where the far left meets the far right.

Winner hears the podcast, gets a transcript, and mails them the NSA document that proves Scahill and Russian intel collusionist Greenwald are wrong, unfortunately mailing it directly to them. Greenwald (a big champ of leaking and whistleblowing when it served his own ends, and the ends of Putin and Assange) and Scahill turn around and burn Winner to authorities, and now she’s going to serve some serious prison time.

Continued aggression in Syria?

wow.

Yes, it’s hard to escape the impression that they outed her on purpose. They certainly know enough about security to have avoided it (although it is likely that NSA would’ve caught up with her eventually without their help). We can only speculate about their motivations-- perhaps for a chilling effect on other leakers that would contradict the narrative they are trying to establish? To expose the “Deep State”?

While some inside the Obama administration pressed at the time to make the full scope of the Russian activity public, the White House was ultimately unwilling to risk public confidence in the election’s integrity, people familiar with those discussions said.

What a disastrous mistake that was. Thank goodness we maintained public confidence in the election’s integrity.
