US still angry about Kaspersky doing analysis of Stuxnet back in the days I see.
I guess they better use Symantec/McAffee to ‘secure’ themselves, I heard it is awesome.
Still, doesn’t matter what you use when NSA hoard vulnerabilities that they lose track off.
If he wrote the recommendation to fire Comey specfically at Sessions or Trump’s request, he probably will have to recuse himself because he seems to now be a witness to the obstruction.
There’s still a couple of deputies left to go before they’re forced to choose one of the few remaining US Attorneys to run the whole show.
Preet Bharara is probably available, if they need to bring in an outsider.
Speaking of Mr. Bharara:
Would be very, very interesting were he to join Mueller’s team…
Yeah it would, but I imagine he’s more likely to be deposed or subpoenaed as a witness than to act as an investigator.

Michael Cohn is one of the most tangibly slimey people I have ever seen.
He looks like a personification of the word “sleaze”.
"While investigating the Kennesaw State University’s Center for Election Systems, which oversees Georgia’s voting system, Lamb found that the website was misconfigured, exposing the state’s entire voter registration record, multiple PDFs with instructions and passwords for election workers, and the software systems used to tally votes cast.
“You could just go to the root of where they were hosting all the files and just download everything without logging in,” Lamb told Politico."
It is funny that the US election system has been fucked since ~2000 and apparently “they” never decided to do anything about it, except give Diebold and other worthless companies like them more money - but lets blame Russia for it anyway :)

Since they actually fucked with our election system, that seems reasonable.
Probably true, but it isn’t as if the US haven’t done the same to other countries. And knowing how vulnerable the election system was, perhaps the government should’ve at least tried to safeguard it somewhat?
Considering how vulnerable the system appears to be, it would seem that whomever tried to influence the US election ran a pretty mild operation? On the other hand, since some of the systems used for voting look like it had very few safeguards against tampering, and no integrity checks, it would be hard to tell if they (Russia, or anyone else) also faked votes in addition to running a “psy-ops” campaign on Facebook.
Washington Post: Trump is under investigation.
Trump: I am under investigation.
One of Trump’s lawyers just now on Meet the Press: Trump is not under investigation.
We recently learned that Obama did do this, but in classic no drama Obama fashion, he kept it pretty quiet because he didn’t want to call into question the validity of the election.
It’s a tricky thing, because we have become conditioned to accept powerful people, rich groups, political organizations, hidden funding sourced PACs, all influencing us and our elections. Now we are supposed to remember it’s just the loyal American ones who are allowed to do it? It seems clear in this world of multi-nationalism that money doesn’t observe borders, and our FEC is chronically inactive, and completely unequipped to investigate or enforce even gross violations. It’s not obvious that most people even care now.
In my more optimistic moments I think that maybe this will all lead to some real campaign reform, because even though we’ve become inured to dark money, buying elections etc. the fact that other countries are buying our elections might finally be enough to wake us up.
… In my less optimistic moments, I can see the current Supreme Court ruling that Putin has a guaranteed right to buy our elections, just like everyone else.
Agreed. The microtargeting of individuals is another thing. That wasn’t possible until recently. It takes propaganda to a different level, to the individual level. Kinda scary, when one considers the possible applications.
And if that doesn’t sound scary to you, you probably haven’t read this yet:
Pretty innocuous all things considered, but put to more vile use? Frightening.
