Schiller does Trump’s dirty work (like delivering the letter that fired Comey.) And given he’s a longtime member of Trumps’s entourage, he knows where a lot of bodies are buried.

Though it’s the House investigation, so the questions will probably be things like, “How awesome is it to work for the President?” and “How frustrating is it that the Democrats keep opposing peace between the great nations of the US and Russia?”

Oh look, the guys that outed their NSA source. Pot - kettle

I guess this explains Hannity and others floating the collusion isn’t wrong theory this past week.

Yep. The right has an irrational hatred of the UN as part of their knee-jerk reaction to anything with the faintest whiff of globalism. You can tell irrational UN hatred when people argue the UN is corrupt (sex scandal!), ineffectual (they couldn’t stop Serbians from slaughtering people), and non-binding (the UN is worthless without a World Police Force). Plus, it’s comprised of people with funny accents.

What these people – some of them are my best friends! – and Nikki Haley don’t understand is how much worse things would be without the UN. It’s like arguing against gun control because it hasn’t dropped the murder rate to zero. I’m also convinced they don’t understand what the UN is actually supposed to do.

Pretty huge story. First evidence establishing collusion between Team Trump and Russian hackers during the campaign.

I think most of them believe the UN is supposed to be doing our bidding, or do nothing at all.

Wittes is finally retiring the tick tick thing.

I think this also accounts for the vitriol toward climate change agreements. Apparently it hasn’t yet occurred to them that the U.S. is on the same globe as other places.

But we’re on a mission from God

The UN is a flawed organization, but it was designed to be so.

If anything its flaws are what make the UN conspiracy theorists extra stupid. You can’t have both.

I’m not a huge fan of a lot of what the UN does, but it’s goal was never to run the world. It was to have a place where nation-states could openly talk to each other and try to make deals and avoid world wars. In that it’s succeeded pretty well.

That is why we need to alter the phrasing.

Remind them that all of America’s guns are on planet earth. No viable earth, no guns.

Alternatively, change Mother Earth to Unborn Baby Earth.

Or what if the planet was just renamed to America Jesus?

From the WSJ article, in case anyone missed this bit:

In phone conversations, Mr. Smith told a computer expert he was in direct contact with Mr. Flynn and his son, according to this expert. The person said an anti-Clinton research document prepared by Mr. Smith’s group identified the younger Mr. Flynn as someone associated with the effort. The expert said that based on his conversations with Mr. Smith, he understood the elder Mr. Flynn to be coordinating with Mr. Smith’s group in his capacity as a Trump campaign adviser.

How about “Jumpin’ Jehoshaphat gender-bent Jesus”?

I may or may not have uttered that phrase yesterday.

Peter Smith is also the guy who paid troopers for the Paula Jones story against Bill Clinton and helped pay the costs of David Brock’s anti-Clinton book in the 1990s, at the behest of Newt Gingrich.

I’m not seeing the significance. Unless they can show that Smith’s group was used as an intermediary solely to put a degree of separation between the hackers and the campaign. Otherwise, if there were collusion between the campaign and the hackers, why would they need a third party?

Flynn and son are part of the campaign. If Smith’s effort to dig up the emails ended in coordination with the hackers, and Smith was working with Flynn, that means the Trump campaign was colluding with the hackers. Those are big ifs, however. It’s not clear that either Flynn or Smith ever were in contact with the hackers. If there was any sort of coordination with the hackers, that would put the coordinators in the position of being accessories (perhaps after the fact) to a number of federal crimes. Piling on the hypotheticals here, if Trump found out that Flynn was involved with this, and that provided motivation for his interactions with Comey and other IC figures regarding the Russia probe, the case for obstruction of justice becomes much clearer.

I guess I was thinking that the coordination was supposed to have taken place at an earlier point, which is probably a false assumption on my part.
