Some of the juicy bits from the Times article:
The June 3, 2016, email sent to Donald Trump Jr. could hardly have been more explicit: One of his father’s former Russian business partners had been contacted by a senior Russian government official and was offering to provide the Trump campaign with dirt on Hillary Clinton.
The documents “would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father,” read the email, written by a trusted intermediary, who added, “This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”
If the future president’s elder son was surprised or disturbed by the provenance of the promised material — or the notion that it was part of an ongoing effort by the Russian government to aid his father’s campaign — he gave no indication.
He replied within minutes: “If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.”
So in that account there’s no doubt whatsoever that they’d been told the Russian government was behind the meeting, or that it was supporting Trump.

So, Don Jr’s and the Trump supporters’ line is that because the meeting turned out to have no valuable outcome, it’s okay?
Wow Don Jr is literally dumber than his dad. Or, he knows he may go to prison and he’s desperately trying to stay ahead of it.

Yes.
“I tried to treason, but it didn’t pan out, so it’s fine.”

Ahahahahahahahahahaha
Don Jr, single handedly trying to prove that wealth is no indication of intelligence or ability.

I wouldn’t bet money on him going to prison. Trump will just pardon him. As long as there’s no paper trail leading to Trump, then he’ll pardon everybody else if it comes to that. In the meantime, he’ll waste as much FBI, CIA, DOJ, etc… time and money as possible.

Donald Trump, Jr. going to prison? Where is that photo of gross Republicans laughing? Insert it here.
Don Jr. will not go to jail.
The emails look terrible. Like, way worse than I imagined. He’d have been better off just commenting.
Yeah, wow. I mean, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from reading Popehat it is that you NEVER TALK, EVER. And you damn sure don’t just release potentially incriminating emails, either.
Yes, the Times has the emails, and yes, Junior knew that, but as GY suggests, you’re still better off commenting.

The real story is, of course, who leaked the email. That’s the real travesty here, people.
I’m still shocked that Donald Jr. released these himself. I don’t get it at all.
This is the intriguing bit. Someone gave the original of that email to the Times. My initial reaction is that it’s Kushner who leaked it, but I have a hard time seeing how this helps him, either, since it incriminates him as well.
Gorka was on MSNBC earlier this morning, and that’s precisely what he kept circling back to without answering any questions. I swear, I don’t know why news media even give him airtime.
