I ran into what I thought was an insane conspiracy theory during the Comey testimony, but I have to admit something happened this morning during the grilling of Wray which made me think twice;
When Comey was testifying and started to provide the most damning information, our cable provider kicked in the monthly required test of the emergency broadcast system. This struck me as particularly bad timing, but I figured they wouldn’t want to lose viewership intentionally when so many people were watching. When someone said whomever had control of that system did it intentionally, I chuckled a bit. This was on June 8th.
This morning, on July 12th, Feinstein started bringing up the allegedly nefarious activities that Comey was looking into, once again the monthly required test of the emergency broadcast system kicked in.
Is there something to this, or is it just a coincidence?
Actually, he has built his own media empire based on right wing outrage (founded the daily caller, etc). The more he can gin up, the more money he makes.
Probably coincidence. I think those EBS tests are parceled out throughout a week to satisfy FCC requirements and scheduled by computer to go forward during viewer times that meet certain FCC requirements for minimum viewership without, say, doing them in the middle of a football game or primetime TV.
Trump keeps insisting this is a witch hunt. In Trump speak, maybe that just means he wants us to start burning perpetrators at the stake?
Trump on why he keeps calling it a witch hunt: “Have you heard that expression used before? Because I haven’t heard it. I mean, I just…I came up with it a couple of days ago and I thought it was good.”
Pursuing those who may have committed a crime isn’t a witch hunt, it’s a criminal investigation. There are several people on his team that have been shown to have allegedly committed crimes. He can keep throwing out, “witch hunt,” and trying to spin it on, “leakers.” At this point, the facts are showing the true colors of the Trump administration.

I’m shocked that so many people who are genuinely outraged at the actions of the Trump campaign here nonetheless seem to take him at his word that the meeting was a total bust and they didn’t get any information. Don and the rest of the campaign lied at every other step of the way. They wouldn’t lie here too?
