If you want an even stronger view of Putin not playing 3d chess, on the media on friday had a pretty interesting interview with a russian journalist.
For months, the American media have been following the so-called Russia affair with near-obsession, interpreting every move by Russian President Vladimir Putin as a cunning play in his geopolitical plan. Since the recent meeting between Putin and President Donald Trump, there have been yet more stories and memes about Russian dominance — which, according to journalist Alexey Kovalev, play right into Putin’s hands. Kovalev, founder and editor of the Russian website The Noodle Remover, speaks with Brooke about the dangerous ways that the American press mistake Putin’s bluster for strategy.
For whatever reason, the forum software renders just the image from the link instead of letting me link to the page with the 9 minute long audio segment.
Here’s the link http://www.wnyc.org/story/on-the-media-2017-07-14
(if I put the link on a single line Discourse just puts in a photo from the link, weird.)
As seen on Facebook
Listen, you cornered, traitorous dipsh-ts, at this point just go with “I ran out of gas! I got a flat tire! I didn’t have change for cab fare! I lost my tux at the cleaners! I locked my keys in the car! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! IT WASN’T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!”

You have no idea how happy this makes me. One of my favorite movies of all time.
But I’m biased, because it’s a local thing.
I watched that again a couple of months ago–so awesome. The other great quote: “We got both kinds: we got Country AND Western.”
Yeah, maybe it doesn’t translate well…
KOVALEV: To put noodles on someone’s ears in Russian is a colorful expression. It means to lie, to [expletive] someone.

If it’s true but they don’t like it, it’s fake.
If it’s fake but they agree with it, it’s true.

I imagine more than 45% of Trump voters do not watch the news, read newspapers, or look at anything online except maybe sports and snoo-snoo. If a stranger calls them up asking about day-to-day issues like this they’ll just give their knee-jerk reaction.
I just … I mean, HE SAID HE DID. FFS, people.
We’re up to 8 people in that room now. Identity of #8 is yet to be revealed, but once it is we’ll probably already be talking about a mysterious 9th person.
From the article:
Donald Trump Jr.'s attorney, Alan Futerfas, has told CNN he has spoken by phone to the eighth person in the room during the meeting at Trump Tower in June 2016.
[…]
Futerfas says the person, who he declined to name, was a US citizen and said he was not employed by the Russian government. But Futerfas acknowledged he didn’t know his entire history. The Agalarovs and their attorney have not publicly explained who the employee was who attended.

It’s probably Rudy.
He seemed to know things before they happened.
