We should be best friends with these people.

Humbug. He’s a leaker of fake news!

Yeah but any Russian-supplied terrorists are only targeting Democrats so it’s cool.

Man, if that isn’t some long-term grudge-holding payback for our behavior in the 1980’s, I don’t know what is. History shows time and time again that it’s damn near impossible to control Afghanistan.

I blame Charlie Wilson for everything.

Pretty awesome, but why would they need to be arming the Taliban when friends in the gulf states do it already; not to mention how the NATO ally Turkey aided IS for a long time.

I laughed but then thought if you’re being serious, I thought I’d chime in with my opinion that ff we had followed through on his war with money & schools, I think we might actually be in a better place. The US abandoned his whole plan after the initial wins.

Yeah, schools and education don’t play as well as bombs and WINNING!

Russia’s goal is pretty straightforward: “Confuse Americans until they turn on themselves”

Kushner’s voice is so annoying.

Early version of a paper: people learn their fake news from people they trust who are duped, and from claims magnified by bots.

Uh, we already have. Liberals are bigger enemies than the Russians on Fox and in Trump country.

Ivanka’s lawyering up. TheHill: Ivanka Trump retains defense lawyer for Russia investigation

Lowell, an attorney for the D.C.-based firm Norton Rose Fulbright, will work to provide both Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner with legal and ethical advice during the investigation.

While the president’s daughter has not been investigated by special counsel Robert Mueller in the probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, Kushner testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee in a closed-door session on Monday.

Trump followed Kushner in adding Lowell to his counsel after the two previously retained attorney Jamie Gorelick to advise them through government mandated disclosure requirements regarding potential conflicts of interest with the Trump family’s businesses and their roles in the administration.

Both lawyers will now advise Trump throughout the investigation.
Ira Sorkin, the lawyer known for his defense of the famous Ponzi-schemer Bernie Madoff, said hiring the defense lawyer was a good move.

“You have to be ready to go just in case Mr. Mueller says he needs something,” he said. “My own feeling is that every individual working in the administration is going to have to get their own lawyer. It’s just the right [thing] to do.”

Included in the package, which passed 419 to 3, are new measures targeting key Russian officials in retaliation for that country’s alleged interference in the 2016 presidential election, as well as sanctions against Iran and North Korea in response to those nations’ weapons programs.

Members of the Trump administration, including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, have resisted the congressional push — in particular a provision attached to the Russian and Iranian measures that would require Congress to sign off on any move to relieve those sanctions.

The legislation was revised last week to address some administration concerns, including its potential effect on overseas oil-and-gas projects that include Russian partners. But the bill passed Tuesday retains the congressional review requirement.

Jeez, what to do? Sign the bill that limits your own powers and look weak? Or veto, get overridden and look weak?

Veto makes him look SO guilty, I would hope he can’t do that. But I’ve been let down every other time I bet on the GOP to have any standard.

He can totally veto it, but with 419-3 support, it’s pretty likely it would just get pushed through the second time around.

One wonders if Trump even knows that’s a thing.

Curious as to who the 3 opposed were.
