Ben Sasse is actually speaking on the floor right now, during the healthcare debate, to tell Trump not to overstep his bounds and try to make a recess appointment to replace Sessions.

I don’t mean behind-the-scenes info, I mean a lifetime of experience in government, a first-rate education, and all that sort of thing.

Her opinion is, for example, considerably more worth listening to than, say, Seth Meyers’s, albeit probably not as entertainingly expressed.

I’m Clinton-ed out, too. Hillary, however, is a private citizen who can do whatever she wants to do. She wants to publish a book? Great. She wants to run for office? Great. However, the Dems shouldn’t run her again. If the GOP wants to go on and on about her, that’s their prerogative. It’s up to the Dems to figure out how to counter those attacks. If the GOP is a small car with clowns pouring out of it, the Dems, at this point, are a small car with nothing pouring out of it. They’d better figure their shit out and do so fast.

Does anybody think this is actually likely to happen? Not being snarky, I just haven’t heard word one about it.

I don’t get why this keeps coming up again and again. I see no evidence she is going to run again. It’s a non issue. I am being snarky.

I don’t think many do, but I’ll go one step further; the Democrats shouldn’t use her to campaign for whomever does.

That’s too much of a generalization. I wouldn’t run her in Texas but there are still plenty of places where having her give aid would be a huge plus.

I didn’t mean to imply that they would run her again or that they were thinking about it. What I meant was that she’s still getting all of the attention as the most important thing about the Dems because the Dems have yet to put forward anything substantive or meaningful since the election loss.

On the other hand, I would love to see Barack Obama write a gloves-off tell-all book, go on a long book tour, and campaign for his favored candidates to the point of exhaustion.

My thoughts exactly, Clay. I don’t think she would run again either, but we need to start talking about who will, and start listening to that person.

To quote a lyric:
I don’t see nothin’ wrong, with a little snark and (something that rhymes with grind.)

We could use more snark around here.

Snark you, snarky!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Putin’s evil I get. A competent person with few moral qualms, given the opportunity to quickly become one of the richest in the world? Sure, maybe even bound to happen given the conditions. What constantly surprises me is the way American politicians split their souls, Voldemort-like and sell them for chump change to enrich those with vastly more wealth than they themselves generally possess. And given the constant fundraising required, it’s not exactly an easy job either.

Senate passes the Russia sanctions bill 98-2 and it now goes to Trump’s desk. What a pickle! It also contains additional sanctions for Iran. If he vetoes it, he’s saying no to Iran sanctions, too!

Plus, if he vetoes, there’s plenty of votes for an override, which would be super embarrassing.

In all the chaos today people might have missed this very important post. I’m going to link this again:

He’d look gasp weak…

Planet Money did a great episode with him about his story. Fills in a lot of the missing pieces in the Russia story (their motives, basically).
