No big Russian shoe drops this week. Sorta’ quiet on that front.
Trump now has the Russian sanctions bill on his desk, though. I am fascinated to see what happens. Does he sign it, and tacitly agree that Russian election interference was a thing (plus screw up his burgeoning broship with his buddy Vladmir)? Or, does he veto, convince everyone he’s Putin’s puppet, and then get his veto overridden anyway?
No way to win on this one for him. 10 days to respond. My guess is he signs, and grumbles about it, but who knows?
I know it got overwhelmingly approved, but do you think they’d override his veto? I’m not sure they would.
Why wouldn’t they? Where’s the upside to not doing so?
Show of party unity (useful now) + maybe the Russians have dirt on all of them, too, and this is all just theatre.
Then why vote for it in the first place? Even if it’s all theater, that just makes you look like a flake.

If the author’s opinion is correct then it makes zero sense that EVERY single person related to the Trump campaign has lied through their teeth about meetings with Russia. Not a single person has told the truth.
No, it makes perfect sense. The Trump campaign knows damn well what they did was wrong, but Russia wins whether or not the meeting is discovered. They were undermining the election regardless of the winner.
I feel like right now is really solid, loamy, fertile ground in which #BURNITDOWN2020 might take root.
