If I could send a, “cheers,” on that comment by raising a beer glass, I would.

Same here. I’m a huge fan of that musical, and of the Robert Preston/Shirley Jones movie.

And now we all have to rewatch it.

A conservative House Republican is calling on special counsel Robert Mueller to resign, citing what he says is a conflict of interest because of Mueller’s “close friendship” with fired FBI Director James Comey.

The argument from Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, a member of the Judiciary Committee, echoes that of President Donald Trump in an effort to question Mueller’s credentials for the job. Mueller, appointed after Trump abruptly fired Comey, is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election and possible ties to Trump’s campaign.

Franks said in a statement that Mueller “must resign to maintain the integrity of the investigation into alleged Russian ties.”

A spokesman for the special counsel’s office declined to comment.

Trial balloon?

Probably. Ridiculous, of course, but since when has that stopped the GOP?

I’m pretty sure that both ‘friendship’ and campaign contributions to democrats have been specifically pointed out as not constituting conflict of interest under the relevant rules, but this is the line they have been cultivating for a few weeks.

I like how with Democrats, of course only Republicans can be trusted to investigate and not be biased. They are a different party it just makes sense.

But investigating Republicans? Well only Republicans can be trusted to investigate and not be biased. They are the same party it just makes sense. What if any lawyer or fbi agent ever donated to a Democratic race? Biased!

Again, if one side always breaks every rule, disregards every tradition, and flaunts every principle, while the other side obediently does as they’re told… Guess which side wins?

Elementary, really. Without any outside structure, internal conscience, or referee, what’s to stop one chess player ‘beating’ another by bashing them over the head with the chessboard?

And then demanding they apologize for bleeding on the pieces…

Huckaboo Sanders just confirmed the WaPo Story that Trump dictated the Trump Jr. Letter.

Why they would admit this, holy shit I don’t know.

These guys are just imbeciles.

Trump’s desire to be the alpha, the man in charge overrides his sense of caution. All the more so since he has so rarely been held accountable for doing anything wrong.

Trump “weighed in”. Which is, face it, a lot of weight.

A Narcissist’s Prayer
That didn’t happen.
And if it did, it wasn’t that bad.
And if it was, that’s not a big deal.
And if it is, that’s not my fault.
And if it was, I didn’t mean it.
And if I did…
You deserved it.

They’ve moved past 1 into 2,3,4 depending on who is speaking.

I’ve heard some people jump right to the end though. Colluding with Russia was the way to stop Hillary Clinton so of course any heroic politician would do it and they should be honored for their efforts!

Or because there’s been no consequences . Why bother hiding anything if there are no consequences? I don’t care how bad the GOP feels, or looks, or if they weep inside, they vote on the outside and they do not hold the executive branch accountable to anything.

Because most likely their constituents voted for Trump, which risks coming against you at the next election unless you are sure that those that voted for Trump don’t like him anymore (which unfortunately I don’t think is a fair thing to say yet).

Sure, but it’s so short sighted.

That 30% of the country isn’t going to be writing the history books.

Hell, they’re barely literate.

But they’d be risking their money.

This, in a nutshell. We know Trump was already getting advice on pardons. He’s planning to take things on knowing nobody will hold him accountable.
