But they’re not puppets. You’re the puppet!
Meanwhile, the Russians are literally running a propaganda radio station in Washington DC without a peep from the Trump Adminstration.
Breaking news: Trump has signed the sanctions bill that limits his ability to negate the actions we took against Russia.

I think he did it just to pad his bill signing numbers. Record number!!

Now watch as the Russians unleash some shit.
“Squirrel gets into control tower and takes out power to the entire Northeast.”
“Armadillo gets into Internet hub and brings down major US online services for 18 hours.”

“Employee trips over cable and takes down massive power grid.”

This really is remarkable. Only because of his Russia problems, he was forced to sign a bill that limits the power of the Executive branch. Any President without these issues would have vetoed the bill.
Um… why? Only a President with “Russia problems” would even consider vetoing it.
Menzo

Because why would you give up Executive power to impose and/or remove sanctions? No President should do that willingly.
But it’s a circular argument because the limitations on the executive are only there because of the Russia problems that might induce the president to veto the bill.

In this case yes, that is true. But it’s not uncommon for Congress to try to limit the power of the Executive, or exert their own. Just noting how amazing it is that we have a President who basically had to allow it this time.
There was no win scenario for Trump this time. Veto and it almost certainly gets overridden. Do nothing, becomes law in something like 10 days anyway. This way he gets to look ever so nice and agreeable!

Congress would not have likely passed a bill specifically limiting the power of any other president like this law does.
It really is a fairly stark condemnation of his presidency, by his own party, in virtually unanimous fashion.
It’s worth noting though, that this is how our government is supposed to work, as far as its originally intended design.
The foundation of our government is not based upon political parties fighting with each other. It’s based upon branches of GOVERNMENT fighting with each other. Congress is supposed to be a check on the President, and vice versa.
He managed to slide a knife in anyway, saying the bill he signed was “deeply flawed”
Also check out this gem of a last sentence, in the official bill signing ceremony.
He signed it. He can say whatever he wants about it. No one cares as long as Congress has it.
Looks like the White House site has two versions of it.

Congress “included a number of clearly unconstitutional provisions” in the bill, Trump argued Wednesday in a statement. He claimed in a separate statement that the bill “encroaches on the executive branch’s authority to negotiate,” and worked in a jab at Senate Republicans over their failure to pass legislation on health care.
Wow, so he’s just cool, you know, signing those unconstitutional provisions into law.
Has he ever once explained what this “better deal” is supposed to be with Russia?
Every Russia plan they’ve floated so far boils down to: Russia gets sanctions removed and we look the other way when they take Ukraine. In return we get a vague promise to oppose ISIS … and nothing else.

I’d assume they also would guarantee he’d stay in the tres commas club and that we don’t gain access to the pee pee tapes.
Frankly I’d consider a diplomatic arrangement wherein we do not have to see Trump peeing on or bring peed on by anyone a net win for civilisation.
Lol because I changed my phone’s permanent locale setting to UK to force the much better British voices in Google Navigate (which ignores less-serious language preference settings), it always suggests delightful British spellings for things now.
Also my dollar sign got replaced by pounds and I’ve gotta dig three menus deep to get the right thing. Small price to pay!
