If there are charges, Mueller’s authority to file them is through the grand jury, which should mean that any indictments are sealed. Guessing not even a potential defense lawyer would be briefed at this time.
Sounds like someone at the DOJ is singing.
With this out of the bag will they wait until Monday? Is there any reason why they can’t arrest anyone tonight or tomorrow?
And now the discussion of who flips and what they have to offer begins.
Or telling Manafort to get out of the country?
Meanwhile, the NYT gets played, once again, like a fiddle. It’s like 2003 all over again. The names change, but they just can’t fucking help themselves.
The comments under that GOP tweet are heartening.

Maybe, if they are already filled and they are bringing the people in by Monday then depending on the situation they could have already just called their lawyers up to arrange their surrender to custody. Obviously we have no idea who it is, but it’s possible that these people already know that they are targets of an investigation and may have even been brought in to testify in front of the GJ (although obviously they can plead the 5th).
Sorry for my ignorance but what’s this in reference to?
Details? I see nothing obvious on the front page of their site.
The Times, and Maggie Haberman in particular, was really beating the drum last week about the uranium thing…which turned out to be utter nonsense. But damn they were pounding that story hard, indicating that someone was eagerly feeding it to them. That and the dossier story (which, hey, tonight it turns out was paid for by the Washington Free Beacon, a conservative newspaper!)
And they never once, not once, asked themselves “Why isn’t the Washington Post all over this thing as much as we are?” or “Why are White House sources pushing this story so hard on us right now?” Instead of thinking–like a lot of folks out there–that these were deliberate distractions being pushed, they just took the hook, line and sinker.
This is Judith Miller all over again. The NYT Washington Bureau gets so much right a lot of the time, but they just can’t help themselves and put their clownshoes on to undermine themselves.
Judith Miller, of course!
Yes, every time.
The “funny” thing is the NYT already fell for the uranium ore story.
About two and a half years ago, as the 2016 presidential campaign was ramping up, the New York Times published a curious piece about a Russian atomic energy agency that swallowed a Canadian uranium mining company known as Uranium One. As the transaction unfolded, the company’s chairman made multiple donations to the Clinton Foundation, which made the story interesting to the Times, because the acquisition could not have happened without the permission of the U.S. national security apparatus, including Hillary Clinton’s State Department.
Here was quid and quo, laid side by side, on the front page of the nation’s paper of record. The following year, the Republican Party’s presidential nominee, Donald Trump, would rest his ludicrously false claim that Clinton “handed over” 20 percent of American uranium to Russia on this central insinuation in the Times’ story. Upon mild scrutiny, though, Trump’s attack, and the broader implication of corruption, collapsed.
“The State Department was one of nine [U.S.] agencies…that approved the deal,” the Washington Post noted in its debunking. “The deal was also separately approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission,” which is politically independent from the White House. The suggestion that Clinton approved the deal as a favor to a donor was a crock.

I think these charges are #FakeNews. Not a thing about it on the Fox News main page so it must be BS!
Look for Trump to double down on his tweet attacks. Because he’s as dumb as a bag of dildos. Mueller probably has his laser sight right on DJT’s forehead.

My favorite misleading headline is 20% of uranium production or supply. You can instantly realize how misleading that is when you realize the same amount is 1% of consumption.
Reuters up with their own story, apparently backing up the CNN story.

Trump is already tweeting about how Hillary is bad.

He’d be screaming about Hillary as they hung him from a lamp pole.

Let us hope to see that one day.
WSJ seems to be the third media outlet to confirm charges have been filed, first person arrested Monday perhaps.

Now America’s favorite guessing game becomes “who gets indicted next”, not “who gets fired next”. I’m betting on an underling of Manafort to start it off.
