Stone lacks the protection of being relevant, good to see them crack down on him.
(gah the gif won’t play.)
That is the funniest thing I have seen in weeks. Much funnier than that time I saw Andy Serkis reading Trump tweets on Colbert
The chances of Stone ending up in jail are around 60%…he can tweet toothless threats from there. Hope his alternative lifestyle meshes with prison.
Too bad that’s from Seth Abramson. I now expect neither of those guys to be indicted on Monday.
(Only kinda kidding. Flynn would seem to be the most obvious.)

So this is going to be the counter attack:
Mueller indicts Functionary Nobody McUnderbus, gets canned, Special Investigator Americock Patriodick IV, Esq. indicts and personally executes H Clinton within 11 minutes of his appointment by President for Life Donald Trump.

That’s pretty much my prediction. Except the special investigator doesn’t get to execute people. That’s the PFL’s job, with his hand on the firing lever for the anti-aircraft cannon.
Don’t know if this has been posted anywhere. Par for the course now that the press secretary just lies with impunity.

And I enjoyed this way too much.
Most likely prediction: Trump fires Mueller, forces a confrontation with the House and Senate that he thinks they’ll back down from.

Sadly, he’s probably right.
If he does fire Mueller, he’ll wait until after the November 7th statewide election in Virginia, since Gillespie and Northam are running neck-and-neck there.
That gives Mueller about 9 days to build his best case and telegraph some direction to make it politically damaging to either NOT fire him or not to launch impeachment proceedings on Trump for doing so.

Do you think he actually cares about the VA race? For a man who has been above the law his whole life, he’s now in the crosshairs. If he is as irate as reports indicate, I don’t think anybody will be able to stop him from protecting his people.
Very much, in fact.
By multiple news accounts he’s still fuming about Roy Moore beating Luther Strange in Alabama’s Republican runoff, and blames a combinating of Strange and Jeff Sessions for pushing him into endorsing the interim Senator there.
In the last month here in Virginia, Trump has become front and center in the campaign, with Gillespie essentially running hand in hand with Trump, and with Trump hailing him in tweets.
Yes. He cares. And I still don’t think he sees Mueller as an imminent danger to himself. That won’t happen until/if Kushner is indicted, which probably isn’t something happening next week.
He can’t fire Mueller, he expended all his political capital firing the last guy.
Well he can, but there will be an uproar, outside of the twitter addicted dopes who are in uproar anyway.
It was an obvious mistake to fire Comey, I doubt he will make it worse again.
These sorts of things are nigh on impossible to predict. Anything could happen, depending on how exposed the campaign is.

The Grand Jury doesn’t actually need Mueller to do anything in a theoretical sense. In actual practice the Government runs the whole investigation and process but technically the Jurors can pretty much subpoena whoever/whatever they want unless the presiding judge shoots it down as unreasonable.
The Government really tries to keep the jurors in the dark so they don’t go “runaway” and obviously you’d have to luck into a good set of jurors but in theory once the investigation is started the GJ itself can drive the show a long way.
If we’re talking about theoretical ways the breakdown of justice could be averted, Mueller having venue shopped a Grand Jury (juries see hundreds of cases, the US Attorneys know their reputations) with an attorney on it is my hypothetical unlikely theory. Someone throw that up on Twitter with a tick tock and get retweeted a hundred thousand times.
(This is only a thought exercise, not trying to make it seem at all likely)
So I haven’t been keeping up. Whom do we think will be indicted/arrested next week? Manafort?
Manafort and Flynn are my main suspects, and possibly Carter Page.
No one knows.
Manafort and Flynn seem obvious but reports are their lawyers have said they have not been issued with any indictments.
Might be those close to those two (son in law and son, respectively) in an effort to put pressure on them to flip. Might be associates of Manafort for real estate deals.
