I heard on Fox it’s Hillary that gets indicted. :-)

I predict massive demonstrations if he fires Mueller. I’ll certainly march.

Not that it will necessarily mean a damn thing.

A general strike. Freeze the economy.

I think it wouldn’t be safe to be staying at or visiting a Trump property too.

I hope they are on heightened security because any sort of violence would probably start in those places, IMHO.

It’s all your hearing on Fox and Talk Radio right now. Fire Mueller! Seriously.

Is oppo research illegal now?

Only if it targets Trump apparently

Trump’s new tweets are setting a high bar for reckless, irresponsible rabble rousing.

A more optimistic take than Yglesias prediction.

The FBI’s investigation of Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, includes a keen focus on a series of suspicious wire transfers in which offshore companies linked to Manafort moved more than $3 million all over the globe between 2012 and 2013.
[…]
Now, BuzzFeed News has learned that investigators have been scrutinizing at least 13 wire transfers between 2012 and 2013. The transfers were first flagged by US financial institutions, which are required by law to tell an office within the Treasury Department about any transactions they deem suspicious. Such “suspicious activity reports” do not prove wrongdoing. Federal law requires financial institutions to file reports on cash transactions that exceed $10,000 in a single day, even if those transactions seem otherwise legitimate. Banks are also required to file the reports whenever they suspect money laundering or other financial crimes.
[…]
Law enforcement sources say the companies sent funds in round-dollar amounts without explanation of what the money was to be used for. The countries where these transactions originated — notably Cyprus and the Caribbean nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines — are notorious for money laundering. Federal law enforcement officials said they saw evidence of “layering,” the process by which the origin of money is obscured behind many layers of companies. Much of the money ended up in the US, sent to home improvement contractors, a hedge fund, and even a car dealership.

Pro tip to DJT: if you had never tweeted in office, and I mean NEVER, not many people would know how truly incompetent and stupid you are.

Unfortunately this ignores how much the GOP depends on Trump’s rabid base.

And the unlucky winner is… Manafort!

A friend of mine pointed out that while this Lawfare blog is still mostly accurate regarding what would happen if Trump fired [EDIT: MALKOVICH] Mueller:

…if Rosenstein resigns [or is fired], that raises a question of who becomes the acting attorney general. Succession in the Department is, to a point, outlined by statute: where the attorney general and deputy attorney general are unable, the associate attorney general “shall act” as attorney general. Otherwise the attorney general “may designate” the solicitor general and the assistant attorneys general, “in further order of succession,” to act as attorney general. That means it could go down the line until an assistant attorney general did not resign and instead carried out the President’s order. (Succession is complicated by the fact that, after Rosenstein, there are only two other confirmed officials in DOJ: Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand, and Acting Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division Dana Boente, who was previously confirmed to be the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. A tad more on this below.) If the officers after Brand also resign, then an executive order on DOJ succession recently promulgated by Trump would control. (This barely noticed executive order would potentially assume great significance if Trump fires Mueller.)

…it needs to be updated in that the Acting Assistant Att’y General Dana Boente last week advised he is stepping down as soon as a replacement is found…

The upshot is if Trump decides to fire Manafort, under normal non-Trumpian circumstances, this would be a problem because there aren’t many people left in the chain of command who would pass along that order.

Fire who?

Malkovich

Rick Gates is up too!

Oops! Freudian slip or something. Thanks.

This was /r Donald over the weekend.
