Is that a lot, or a little?
I dunno how the actual trial days relates to the actual trial length.

Three weeks is short. It could push up the trial date (currently, tentatively set for April). And note that the 15 days is trial days.

Those are just the prosecution though, right? Presumably the defense would have as much time as they need as well.

That’s a great read, will make a great movie no doubt

Given that most Friday news breaks late, I’m not expecting anything until later, if at all.

From a strategic perspective, I can see it being good tactics in terms of putting pressure on potential flips to do the same thing as last week, and announce more indictments on Friday to be unsealed Monday, and let people stew/worry/make mistakes as they wonder if they are the next to come under the hammer, while keeping the pressure up.

Doing this on a weekly/regular basis would also weaken the FUD campaigns.

Pretty good roundtable interview/overview of where we’re at via the Intercept with Ken White of Popehat and Jeremy Scahill of the NYT:

Yeah. As the article relates, I can’t imagine how demoralizing it must have felt for the staffers.
The other thing that strikes me is just how dumb the trump campaign was. Those emails were getting released with or without a quid pro quo; the trump camp really didn’t need to do anything - they would have had the same result. Instead they acted like the stooges they are and now a number of people are going to run afoul of the law (remains to be seen if they pay an actual price)

Here’s an interesting article about how Mueller may be strategizing to avoid the threat of Trump pardoning those he charges.

Thanks for that. Nicely explains it in non-technical language.

That really was interesting. Trump may be President, but Mueller is really good at this.

Mueller is very good, and he has a team of literally the best prosecutors in the entire country.
It’s like the '96 Dream Team from the Olympics going up against people who have never heard what basketball is.

Right; the only way the behavior of the Trump camp makes sense is if they wanted to participate in coordinating the release of the emails. Having foreknowledge of when the emails were released would be a big plus from their POV. Also, giving the Russians info on when to release the emails would have been to their benefit. However, this sort of coordination is almost certainly going to fit the popular conception of “collusion” and probably also the legal definition of an “overt act” for a conspiracy charge. So either they were really dumb or really evil. Or heck, with these guys, why not both?

Except that the other team has all the power and can fire your players.

But not if you play the game in New York state!

How bad is it if I think this would make an awesome board game? You have a cooperative game, trying to investigate the President, the actions of the Trump administration are random evil card draws, the clock is ticking until re-election and the end of democracy!

Sounds like Eldritch Horror.

Trump Card! Practically designs itself!
